The foot is again feeling better today, which leads me to think that perhaps I just strained or pulled something; at least, I hope it's as simple as that. I have been continuing with ice, IBs, and cross training.
Today, I went to the gym and remembered my mp3 for the elliptical. Much better. It was nice too to be able to work out in the afternoon (my most convenient time of day); it's too hot out there now to be able to walk, much less run.
Elliptical stats for the day:
60 minutes
5.7 miles
670 calories burned
After the workout, I headed across the street to Borders and picked up two new books, so now I think I will relax and read. Ahhh...

Nice workout!! ;D What books did you get? (I'm noisy :P )
hey, that was my question! I was wondering if you found any good summer reading books.
I don't get elliptical trainers, maybe I'm doing something wrong when I'm on them.
Marcy: I'm sure you are "noisy," but are you also nosey? He, he, sorry...
Um, for both you and Wendy: I got "The Namesake" by Jhumpa Lahiri and "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy. Started the first one this afternoon.
ROFLMAO!! I swear I'm having a whole lifetime of typos and whack sentences.
"The Road" hmmmmmm was that the post apocalyptic one with the father and son? One of Oprah's reads? I'm so out of touch with books, it's so sad LOL. The only thing we read up in here is "I Love You Clifford" and "My Potty Book" :P
Ok, I'm going to further fill up your comments. Yes, Marcy, you are thinking about the correct book. Jess, when you finish it, can you let me know what you think? I read it a few months ago before it was an Oprah Book and I can't figure out for the life of me why it is an Oprah Book. It was a good story, but I can't figure it out.
Marcy is very noisy sometimes. ;>)
Let us know how the books are. Nice workout! I am always so happy to burn anything over 500 cals.
Oooooo, I love buying new books, but lately I've been cheap and checking them out at the library. If I really love one, I buy a copy to re-read later on. Sadly enough though, college doesn't allow me much time to read things other than Gray's Anatomy (the textbook, not the show, lol) or the APA Manual. But ALAS, summer! Right now I'm reading Ex and the single girl.
So far, so good. Enjoy your books!
I'll let you know how "The Road" turns out. I haven't read anything of McCarthy's since "All the Pretty Horses" (which is fantastic, BTW) but this has been getting fantabulous reviews and is rumored to perhaps be named for some of the big lit prizes, so I figured I'd check it out.
But I started with the other novel today. I'm only about 50 pages in, but it's good. The author, Lahriri won the Pulitizer with one of her short story collections, and this book is being turned into a movie, so I was curious.
Two new books? I'm jealous.
The elliptical is my favorite equipment at the gym, and I get a little inwardly pissy when all the machines are taken when I get there.
I finally answered your meme. At first I didn't think there was anything weird about me, until I gave it some thought
How very wrong I was....
Oh, and if you haven't read it yet, I highly recommend "The Kite Runner."
Wow! some serious cals burned! fantastic. glad your foot is better.
Books? Funny! The most in a book I've read lately is counting Elmo's friends, and reading about how Dora went to the potty!
