Deep Thoughts

Well, I'm glad my poo-plosion could be of so much entertainment for you all: feel free to laugh at my expense -- that's why I share!

But what I find particularly interesting is how many of you seem to be able to relate: either you have pooed yourself or you know someone else who has -- clearly this is something of an epidemic. But it does make me feel better; I'm not alone on this embarassing matter, and some of your stories made ME laugh out loud.

Good lord, poo is funny.

Soooo....my car stinks today: had to drive to work sitting on a towel (for good measure) and with the windows rolled down. I am a little scared of what kind of science experiment will grow in there over the course of what will surely be a very hot, humid day.

Perhaps it's finally time to buy a new car.

You may want to head by the local PetSmart and check out the pet mess neutralizer. That may at least reduce the poo-rific residue. Couldn't have done this in cooler weather, huh? Nothing better than a hot, humid, brown cloud in the car after leaving work. :-)

OMG I can only imagine!! On the bright side though, at least it's YOURS not some random peep, I think that would be even more gross LOL What kind of seats to you have? Good Lord, that can't be too easy to clean up. David's got a good idea there . . . .wonder how he knew :P

I like David's idea. No one has to know it's your poo your ridding. And yes, I think we all have poo stories...we just don't share.

I would just say to hell with it and buy a new seat. A poo proof seat.

David: That is a smart idea, but I'm one step ahead of you homey. We had some pet-carpet cleaner from when our dog, Scooter, was a puppy, and I used that last night.

However, the odor is this terrible blend of shit covered over with cleaning solution. I thought about Febreezing the crap out of the seat (which is cloth BTW), but then I figured the combo of 3 scents would simply push me over the edge. If it were a nicer, newer car, I'd probably pay to have it detailed, but as it is, I don't know if it's worth it.

However, the plus side of this mess could be that no one asks me to drive anywhere b/c they don't want to ride in my car.

This reminds me of an episode of Seinfeld, when Jerry's car had B.O smell, from the dude that valet parked it. No one wanted to ride in it... so you're probably right - you may have accidentally strategically placed you and hubby as passengers and in the same time save $ on gas. Plus, if you don't have to be DD, you get to drink all you want, chica!

If it makes you feel better, I pooed myself once. I was about 14/15 and it happened while I was puking.... damn flu! That was embarassing!

Well yeah, that's the goal, right? ;-)

Yes but the bad news about that Seinfeld episode is that Jerry couldn't even sell his car and ended up giving it to a homeless man - let's hope it doesn't come to that!

What about renting a steam cleaner and using it on your seats? Less expensive than getting it detailed, but it still should do the job.

Yep, Krista, I forgot about the ending... Oops...

I would suggest steam cleaning the seat first. Then, spray a vinegar on it. Vinegar is great at neutralizing smells, plus the smell of vinegar doens't last long, so it won't be like adding a new smell to you car.

And, of course, there's always this:

Gotta' love Google!

Spot Shot!! You can buy it at Home Depot or Costco. It takes anything out of fabric. It's magic I tell ya.

I was totally laughing at Mendy's comment because there are two different Seinfeld's going on here...the BO car and when Poppy peed on the couch.

I can see why you and the hubby might never have to transport people anywhere else, but if you were really prone to do this frequently, wouldn't people prefer to suffer through a few minutes in your car rather than have this incident repeat itself in their car.
