Push it Real Good

My run last night was great! I was feeling good, so at 2 miles, I decided to push things a little and see what 3 miles felt like. And guess what? No knee pain whatsoever! I can't express how elated I was when I finished. I felt like my old running self again -- it was awesome!

My secret? Lots of foam rollering beforehand to get the IT band loose. Also, I have been super-duper good about stretching and icing after.

That's cool! Glad your knee isn't giving you any trouble. I would still slowly keep inching up the miles and not try to put out a 8 miler tomorrow :) That's asking for trouble.

Tell me I'm not the only one who stopped to sing a lil' Salt n' Peppa after reading the blog title. Literally...I'm dancing in my seat over here. :)

So glad to hear the run went well and with no issues!! You'll be ready to rock Chicago in no time!

Ooooh...AND...for the love of all that is good, please don't leave right after the marathon. You have to come to the 27th mile celebration that evening and have a few drinks with us! :)

Ah...that is such a wonderful feeling ... a feeling that we sometimes take for granted until we are injured!

That is great to feel so elated after running and not like you just finished a chore.

Foam rollering beforehand - is that how you make afternoon running work??? At 4:30am who can think about that - the informercials aren't that entertaining.
