The running gods didn't punish me for yesterday's comment about my 3 miler being easy, and today I was able to enjoy another comfortable run; this time, it was a 5 miler (48:54). It's funny that a few months ago I would have thought that to be a slow time, but after struggling through July and August's heat, that's back to feeling like a decent time.
In other news, well, there really isn't much other news. It's been rad rollin' in my new ride the past few days; it's been a slight adjustment getting used to driving a new vehicle, but it drives so easily and comfortably that the adjustment hasn't been hard to make. Plus, because my old car was in such bad shape, I'm loving the features on the Escape that are just plain standard -- like A/C that works on multiple settings instead of just "full blast" and "off." I still haven't settled on a name yet, but these things take time to feel out.
But that's about it. Oh! I used the DVR for the first time. You guys were right -- it is tubular to be able to fast forward through the commercials! Now, I just have to adjust my fast-forwarding skillz; I have a tendancy to go right through the show instead of pushing play at the right moment.

Now you've had the 5miler I wish I had today. It sucked. But of course, you already knew that.
Nice job on the 5 miler!
All three topics deserve a "yeah!" Good job on the better running, the new car, and the DVR. So far, it sounds like an excellent week.
Nice job on the running. Apparently this week is my week to suck LOL.
Glad you are enjoying the new ride. I keep praying for the jeep to die so I can get something new. I look forward to the day when our car isn't older than our marriage LOL.
Nice job on the 5 miler. DVR is the death of me.
Holy new gadget central! Glad you're diggin runs and quality goods.
Has anyone recommended the swasome-mobile?
Sounds like a great run!!
Congrats on the car. It is beautiful!
Can you chat with the running gods for me? I could use a good word.
Welcome to the dark side of TV tech. You'll never go back. When you find yourself waiting to watch a show 15 minutes after it has started so you can FF through the commercials, then the conversion is complete.
Do not, I repeat "do not" get the feeling the running gods may have overlooked your transgression. They are a finnicky bunch and their whim is random. I suggest a sacrifice as soon as possible, perhaps donating an old pair of shoes to your local running store (assuming there is one that collects them for charitable purposes).
It looks like you are having a fantastic week. Your spanking brand new car. Your spanking brand new DVR. and a terrific 5 miler. What's next? A spanking new learjet ???
the beauty of A/C and DVR in one day - sounds like a good day all around.
so is it weird going from the Green Hornet to an SUV?
Hey. I've been away for a bit. New car...DVR...lots going on with you. Nice 5-miler.
NIce job on the five. So glad all is going well with the new car. It must be nice to be in a car that has all its features working!
Now you're going to get B slapped by the God's the next time you go LOL JK!!
That time seems fast to me. Way to go. I heart my DVR - not as great as Tivo, but still fablous
Holy gadget's girlie...glad you're enjoying your new ride!!

Sweet job on the fiver!
Tubular? LOL... Sweet five miler along with a sweet ride eh? I'm sure you'll appreciate the multiple settings for the AC in that Florida heat...
Hey Jess. I wanted to pick your brain a little bit about your job. Do you have an email address you could send me so I could ask you a few questions? Mine is lifeaseyeseeit@gmail.com. Thanks!
I hope someday to know that new car feeling. LOL I look at the features of new cars now and they just floor me. Glad you are enjoying!
