While Ike has totally missed FL, (I'm sorry, SW Texas -- you guys have to be pooping your pants right about now looking at those forecasts!) it is sweeping nearby Cuba, so we've had gray and windy weather the past two days. Today, it has been particularly windy, with gusts around 25 mph.
Now, if that breeze brought cool, fresh air with it, I wouldn't mind it; in fact, I would errect a church in its honor and worship there on designated holy days. But that's not the case. It's still 91 out there, with 85% humidity, so that wind basically just feels like Satan is whistling at me.
Therefore, you may aptly conclude that my 3 miler this evening was a wee bit of a struggle; with a total time of 29:39, you'd assume correctly.

Oh, I despise wind gust on hot humid days. Believe me, I hear ya. blech.
That doesn't sound like fun at all!
Same thing here in Orlando, but not quite as windy. So annoying when it's still so hot out!
Glad you guys are safe from big IKE. I don't even think I would have braved a run in that mess. You rock!
I prefer to think of the breeze as a giant hair dryer. But if you locate that cool breeze, let me know.
Glad to see that you missed out in the nasty weather. Nice run!
YUCK that does not sound fun at all.
I always think of it as an oven. Yuck!!
Yuck...that's all I can say about the weather...yuck...
oh i hear ya- it was so humid yesterday- gross...i'm waiting for the cooler air (ie 80s) to set in. PRONTO
Doesn't sounds like a fun time. Does the humidity ever go away?
Ewwwhhh that sounds like a gross run (not in a perverted sense, but in a yucky feeling sense LOL)
91 with 85% humidity...great for Badwater training.
Nice 3 miler.

"... just feels like Satan is whistling at me."
LMAO at that. Very nice.
And you still did 3 miles! I would not have even tried.
We don't get winds like that in these here parts, but it don't sound pretty. :p
Kudos for getting 'er done!
"feels like Satan is whistling at me."
LMAO. Sorry to hear the weather stinks
No, friend. A time of 29:39 would be my new 5K PR. :)
