Found: Mojo

Finally, I had a good run. In part, it was a good run because I ran at dusk, so it was cooler; I ran by myself, which is a nice change of pace and I get to listen to my Shuffle; and I took yesterday off, so I had fresh leggy-legs. But, a few other factors contributed to the return of El Mojo.

1. I ordered the Garmin 110.This afternoon, after dropping in to my LRS and being told that it wouldn't be in stock until mid-May (possibly the end of May), I went home and ordered it from Road Runner Sports. I had a coupon code for 10% off anyway, and I can't lie about loving the savings. I went with the plain-Jane model pictured above. The pretty grey/pink model only comes with the HR monitor and runs about $50 more than the basic model shown above. I don't use an HRM, never have, and felt like it wasn't worth the extra $50. So, this little baby should be in my hot hands by this time next week!

2. Jerry told me that he has been crafting a medal for "My Own 13.1." He described the design of it to me this afternoon and it sounds pretty kickass. So, I think that means I have to earn my medal by actually trying to train for this invented race. I only have a few weeks to really "train" so I need to step it up a couple of notches!

Glad you found it. I guess it's time to use it now. That's awesome your hubby is actually making you a medal!

1. You'll have to review the garmin when you get it. I know mine may be history in the next year, so I'd love to hear what you think of the new one.

2. Will Jerry make me a medal too if I run 13.1 on the same day you do? You know I'm all about the bling. I might even send him a beer...

Glas to hear you had a good run. Nothing like some gadget & bling motivation!

What a good Idea to have your own 13.1! I want to do something like that as well! Will he time you and be there at the finish with finishing tape stretched across the end? Good luck training!

So glad your mojo found its way home. Yay! Let us know how the Garmin works out. I have a HR monitor on mine that I never use as well- sounds like a sound decision.
