Hump Day Heat

This evening's 5 miler started off well enough, but after 3 miles, I was pretty much spent. It was 90 degrees when I headed out at about 7:30 pm and 77% humidity, so even though the first 3 went fine, after that, my face was a pulsing tomato, I was pouring rivers of sweat, and my fingers were sausages. So, in the 4th mile, I had to take a quick walk break. That seemed to help and I was able to finish up the fiver without another break.

When I got home, Jerry said, "Wow. Your face is red."

He's got some astute observations.

On the plus side, that Auto Pause function on the Garmin is pretty sweet. I wonder what other functions I'm not aware of...hmmmm...guess it pays to read the owner's manual, huh?

1: 9:14
2: 9:32
3: 9:44
4: 10:28
5: 9:47

Total Time: 48:46

Wes, don't yew meen Wee R sew Smrt?

The Garmin can be like a mystery wrapped in an enigma...It does things that still amaze me when I download the data.

It was 90 here today. I took my floating night off. I don't know how you do it, Jess!

Careful with the autopause. Sometimes mine stops if i'm running too slowly.

Good job toughing out the run.

Nice job! Isn't auto pause the best?

Jeepers Jess, it's a shame you have to cut through the heat - just think how fast you're going to be when you start seeing relief in October :-)

I really have explored the many options the Garmin offers either. For me the simpler the better. Nice job on the run. Are you still swimming?

Still looks like good split times to me. :)

I'll have to check out the Auto Pause feature...

Glad to hear you figured out the auto-pause. Lots of good features. Have you discovered the training buddy feature ?

I think you should live with Garmin for awhile before you decide what you really want him to do. It's way too confusing at first until you use if for awhile. Went bowling last night, thought of you. You would have kicked my ass but I could keep up with you drinking. :D Isn't it weird the things you think of about blogger friends?

Groovy on getting the Garmin to do the auto pause. I am going to have to pull the manual out and get on it. OK my Coach wants me to fill in bike time while in FL with run time. Sending her the hump day heat post. I hope I have acclimated enough for this.
Fantastic splits, Jess it does not appear that the heat is getting to ya besides in the red face.

Oh man. I'm headed down to visit family for Independence Day and you have made me throughly scared of doing any kind of running while I'm there!
