Week 13

According to BabyCenter, Pregnancy Weekly, and the Mayo Clinic, today marks the end of the first trimester because I'm at week 13. (For those who said the end of the first tri is later, you may be right, but these are the resources I go by, and they all say the same thing.)

So, how is this week significant? Supposedly, the chance of miscarriage dramatically decreases now, and I am now supposed to start feeling miraculously better. I hope so because last night Jerry and I went out to eat, and afterward I threw up my dinner in the parking lot (what a waste of money!) and pretty much felt like dog shit for the rest of my Friday night.

Yeah, week 12 turned out to be nearly as bad as week 6 in terms of pukiness. So I'm hoping things begin to take a dramatic turn-around, but yeah, yeah, yeah, I know that week 13 isn't the magic "cure all" that everyone promises and that it's very likely I'll continue to suffer from symptoms up until the 16th week. Let's just hope that's not true.

In other news, it's cold here again! A cold front blew in last night and the temp dipped down into the 40s again! It's supposed to remain chilly for today and at least tomorrow, but possibly lasting into early next week. I don't have any evidence to support the forthcoming statement, but...I think this is the coldest winter I've ever seen in South Florida! Granted, I've only lived here 4 and 1/2 years, but the natives are saying the same thing, so I think I may be right.

The upside to the chilly weather is that I think I may go for a mid-morning run today (which I can never normally do because it'd be too hot) to round out the running for the month of January. Hard to believe the month is already coming to end and February is about to commence!

Happy Saturday everyone!

Bonus: Now you can say you've completed your first "Tri"!

Alrighty then, let's bring on the second Tri - when does the name game start. Could it be the little one's first name will start with a "J"?

Good work on yakking in the lot. Hopefully it was the parking lot of the restaraunt, and it made people not want to eat there.

Here's one for you... According to the Farmer's Almanac this is supposed to be a cold winter, but like you I have noticed that it has been a lot colder than usual here in South Houston too.
Sorry about the pukey week. I hope that it clears up soon!

ha, I like 'Puke Princess', good one Lily. Remember to bundle up with those wicked 40ยบ temps. You may need to put on several layers and don't forget to cover any exposed skin!

Happy Saturday to you! I hope you enjoy your weekend and start feeling better ASAP! It seems odd to me that your body would all of a sudden just start feeling better miraculously but the body is a miraculous thing so I hope for your sake, it stops with the puking already!

I feel so bad for you with the pukiness! I felt like ass 24/7 for many weeks but I didn't throw up half as much as you. It has to get better.

Just think of it this way, you will have abs of steel from all the hurling.

And...for as much complaining as I did about not feeling well, you forget all of that ickiness months down the road when the little one is too darn cute for words.

Congrats on hitting the first trimester....only 2 to go!! I hope the puking stops for you soon.

OMG....40 degrees in Florida? That is the temp here in MN today (almost). I hope I didn't jinx the weather for you when we were in the subzero hell.

Yessss I missed the cold. It was a gorgeous 75 degrees when I was there yesterday!

Love love love this weather! These cool night and perfect days is the weather I wish we had all winter!

Sorry you are still sick. Mine went away at about 3 1/2 mo. My mom had it all through month nine. And Shannon had only a little in the begining...go figure.

But hang in there it will get better eventually. About another
5-6 weeks and you will know if it's a boy or girl. How exciting.

I have heard the same things from my family down there about how cold it is. I dont ever remember it getting that cold when I lived down there
