The Sideways Vitamin

Do you ever swallow a viatmin and it feels as though it is lodged in your throat sideways? And then once you're fairly confident you've swallowed enough water to wash it down, it feels like a stone in your stomach?

That's what I've got going on right now. I swear that thing rebelled against me, and went in crooked just to piss me off. Then, I had to drink enough water to fill a swimming pool to get the feeling that it had slipped down into my stomach, but now I can feel it sitting there. And with all the water I just drank, I feel a little woozy from the effects.

Am I the only one who struggles with her daily vitamin? Why does it have to be so big? And why in the world can't it be gel coated, like aspirin? Ugghhh.

I am cracking up at your post. I haven't taken a vitamin since I took my last prenatal which was about 20+ months ago just for that reason. Enjoy your blog too

I long for the day when all my vitamin-y goodness can come in a chewable, great tasting, fruity mass, like the flinstones vitamins from childhood.

instead, I'm stuck taking big ass honking multi-vitamin pills and even larger glucosamine tablets. blech.

I know what you mean about vitamins. I read something interesting that a lot of vitamins don't dissolve in system. It showed a test ... put your vitamin in vinegar. Check after 30 minutes to see if it's breaking up. I tried 2 kinds. The cheaper one from the drugstore dissolved. The expensive one from a health food store never dissolved even after sitting there all day.

I know!!! What on earth prevents them from gel-coating vitamins and making them less gag-worthy?

I recently was talking to a friend of mine who I found out still takes flintstones vitamins because she doesn't want to swallow them.
