Return to Running

Last night after I got home from "The Wedding Singer" -- which was a good stage production, BTW, it had enough of its own original material to distinguish it from the movie and it still had the same elements of the movie that made it lovable and familiar -- I changed into my running clothes and went out for the first run since the marathon.

It went well. I only went 3 miles, but it felt good outside and it felt nice to be running again, which made me think again about the upcoming race calendar. I have been browsing online and I have a few tentative races: a 10K in early November, 5K Turket Trot that is located right outside my door (really would like a PR on that course -- last year's PR was 28:28), and then possibly the half-marathon in Weston, FL in December, and the A1A half marathon in February (I have a bone to pick with this one since last year I had to bow out b/c of acute IT pain in my right knee, so I'd like to have a re-do on the course).

I haven't registered for anything yet, and as I said, this is a tentative schedule. I'll let ya know for sure when I have officially added the races to my schedule.

Planning is so much fun :-) Awesome choices!! Now, you'll get to make up all those months of running in the heat by enjoying that Florida winter, no doubt!!

Good job getting in those 3 miles!! Bet that felt good.

I wish I could figure out what I wanted to do next so that I could start planning. Putting things on the calendar even tentatively is fun!!

it ruins my day cause it makes me sing that damn song in my head.

It's good to start planning again. I'm also viewing other races.

All your choices sound great.

Sorry last one was me. Wrong account. Blah.

Ooooooo looks like a good plan chica!

Yes please come over and help with the wallpaper. It's just this one small wall. And yes, I look/act like a total moron when I handle the power drill (hence all the drill holes that I need to fill :-X )I'm half scared of the thing LOL

It helps me a lot to be thinking about the next one. Those sound fun and that 5K PR is pretty awesome.

How many accounts does Marcy have? Is she a perv in the other one??? Why won't she let us see her other self.....

What a difference that you waited until you wanted to run, huh? Good job! I take it you didn't have any pain?

What a nice little return to running run! Even though I say "little" like 3 miles isn't my standard or anything like that :P

glad to hear you had a good run...I think winter is upon us - or maybe it is the strong sea breeze of late...either way I'm happy.

Can I stalk you at A1A? I was thinking about that one...

I love Turkey Trots, even if it does sound like some bad stomach problem after Thanksgiving Dinner...

You could always come brave Miami in January with me! Maybe it wont rain buckets this year.

Nice job getting back out there to brave running once again :)

Sounds like a good plan. Something to shoot for, but without all the pressure.

It seems like I'm burying a comment, but I'm not...my comment is relevant to this specific post. (lately my comments are so irrelevant it doesn't matter though).

Are you still planning on doing A1A? I have no idea what my race schedule looks like after Palm Beach except that I'll do the Komen 5K up here in January.

If you are doing A1A I can definitely come down to your neck of the woods for some runs if you want even if I'm not doing that race. I doubt I'll do the full at Miami or A1A...
