At first, I thought it was the worst timing in the world, being 35 weeks preggo and all, but then I figured, eh, what else do I have to do? So, I figured it wasn't such bad timing. However, what sucks is that today, my first day of summoning, I wasn't actually asked to come in. Nope. Instead, I'm "on call" for the next two weeks, so everyday, after 5:30 pm, I have to call the courthouse and see if I'm on duty for the next day.
As I said before, this is not a big deal since I don't have to work right now, but the one thing I am concerned about is how a possible "affirmative" one of these days in the next two weeks will interfere with my now weekly doctor appointments (dr's office asks for 24 hour notice for the cancellation or change of an appointment), but I guess I will just deal with that conflict if it actually arises.
Anyway, without jury duty today, and with nothing else on my schedule, I figured I would clean my car out. Clean it like it's never been cleaned before.
An hour later, I had vacuumed every square inch of the Escape (mostly a lot of dog fur and beach sand in there), cleaned the upholstery, and Windexed the windows. I had also sweat through my underwear and drank two bottles of water -- deciding on such a task on a day with 98 degree wasn't the smartest part of the plan -- so even though my original ambition had been to also drag out the hose and wash this puppy, I aborted that idea after I finished the interior.I think tomorrow I may just take it to the car wash in order to get the outside as clean and shiny as the inside.
And yes, apparently, "nesting" inspires a mania-like need to clean everything before the baby comes. It's like a compulsion. Soon, however, I am gonna run out of stuff to clean.

I cleaned randomly weird stuff too since the baby room was ready months before Miller came. Next week it will be some random cupboard or alphabetizing something like your spice cabinet. It's almost time!
The jury duty thing sucks. If it interfers with your dr. appt, call anyways. They may be sympathetic since you can't do much about your civic duties.
Please, I beg you, come over to my house. I never realized being a home owner meant so much cleaning.
My nesting consisted mainly of cooking enormous vats of chili, spaghetti sauce, and casseroles and filling my freezer.
well if you run out of things to clean, my car needs a good cleaning- and i'm not afraid to ask a preggo to do it! :)

I bet you won't have to actually sit on a jury, I can't imagine that a judge would want to take the chance of having you to into labor early while sitting on a case. It would make for a great story though.

And just so you know, I agree w/ you on your comment on my blog- personal finance is just that- PERSONAL so everyone is going to respond differently to cc debt or sl debt or whatever it may be. For us, it wasn't working, but I fully understand that it works well for others, probably even you.
I don't want you to think I'm trying to persuade anyone w/ my blog, just document what we're doing, our progress, and how I'm feeling. That's all.

Jury duty, blech! I am the same way when I am at home, a cleaning machine. Your Escape looks spotless!
LOL....I had to make sure that both of our cars were squeaky clean before the kiddos came. They have never been that clean again.

I did a jury duty stint when I was 35 weeks preggers. I kept hoping that they'd take one look at me and I'd never see the inside of a courtroom...I thought wrong...
Ah well...did my civic duty and all that.
haha! I remember deciding one night that the fridge absolutely needed to be spotless and shining that very minute. It was probably like 11:00 pm but it HAD to be done. Gotta love nesting!
You are going to have the cleanest house! Enjoy the down time and clean house.

I need to clean my car so badly! It's such a mess after taking it camping a couple weeks ago.
Nesting is insane. My MIL called me last night and said... "just wait until you get these sudden urges to clean, then you'll know labor is imminent". I was like... "um, I've had 9 months of sudden cleaning urges... but you're right, labor IS imminent. It has to happen sometime!" HAHA! Ok, so with jury duty... what if you get put on a case that they estimate to last 3 weeks? Will you ask to be excused?
I feel like if they saw you they would send you home!!
I wish I could help out. You are the one who should sit back and relax. I cannot imagine how you do it in 98 degrees heat. Wow!
If you run out of things to clean just head up here. Something in our apartment could always stand to be wiped, washed, or dusted.
