More Norah Stuff

Just when I had finished project "wash and organize everything of Norah's," guess what arrived? Another box, courtesy of my MIL, filled to the brim with everything from more clothes to toys, bibs, socks, and shoes. Really, I'm not complaining about the loot (and, if she keeps it up, maybe we won't ever have to buy our daughter clothes), but it was the timing -- it took me a week of laundry to get everything else washed and sorted. Anyway, I set to work on organizing the box load of stuff today, and I think she has enough bibs to last all of her babyhood and she has enough clothes to, perhaps, never have to repeat outfits; plus, one funny thing I discovered is that, so far, she has 6 swimsuits! (I guess a FL girl needs lots of beachwear!) Thankfully, they are all in different sizes, and here are 3 of my favorites so far:
Scooter insists on "helping" me sort stuff, and he seems to sense when I'm doing something that's focused on the baby because he inserts himself right in the middle of the task. Someone is going to be a teensy bit jealous once she arrives.

Anyhoo...after talking with the MIL, I learned she had already taken the time to wash everything, so I really just had to sort it and put it away. But, I have come to the conclusion that Norah does NOT need any more stuff (for the time being). She has one dresser full; she has this (below) supplementary dresser full, and she already has a stored Rubbermaid full of stuff that is for when she's bigger.
Also, this bookshelf (below) was originally intended for BOOKS, but because she's already got so many toys, it's been filled mostly with those, which if Scooter has his way, it may be good she has so many because he would love to take some of those plush animals and keep them in his own toy basket.
And, lastly, I think it's safe to say that she has enough bath toys to entertain a small army of children. Although, I have to admit that I have special love for the little zoo of bathtime animals.
So, yeah, I think it's safe to say that we do NOT need any more baby stuff!

Unless of course, someone wants to donate a mountain of diapers...I think we will need plenty of those.

I was about to warn you about not stopping the gifts from coming because whatever you don't have to buy in the clothes and toys department is a godsend. Those diapers, wipes, formula, BFeeding supplies, etc. ADD up.

She is going to be spoiled though. That's a lot of loot for one baby!

Wow that is amazing!!! My sis in law had the first grandbaby on each side and ended up with mountains of toys, clothes, books, etc.

Wow! That is a lot of loot! That is too cool. All that disposable stuff adds up fast too!

you are making out like a bandit! and yeah diapers...those suck. you'll be going through quite a few unless you potty train her at a record age. :)

Based on what I see on trash day, the carbon footprint of people with babies is HUGE! And I am told that you can never have enough baby stuff.

I think she has more in her closet than I do. So jealous.

hmmm, once she grows out of a few things you could always send / donate them to a women's shelter. Those ladies leave home with their kids and not much else.

Just saying....

What type of diapers are you thinking of using?

LOL about the diapers, that is what I always try to include in baby gifts, because as we all know, one can never have enough diapers!

You have so much for Norah, that is just great! My daughter is 5, and I still don't have to buy her clothes, her grandparents are constantly buying her things, it's rare that I actually have to purchase clothes.

You're going to have one pumped out baby! I love all of the swimsuits - she'll be a beach baby for sure.

I didnt have a baby shower (my choice) and we were STILL flooded with stuff. People love to buy baby stuff (especially baby girl stuff!).

That's a lot of stuff! I didn't have to buy any clothes for Jones until he was at least 4. Shoo has enough clothes to outfit at least two kids, but at least most of his is hand me downs from Jones.

That's a lot of stuff! I plan to draw the line on the gifts of clothes & toys from my family- specifically my MIL. If she wants to buy things for our future children, that's fine, but she can keep it all at her house. that's all I'm saying. Sometimes I think people go overboard with babies and assume all of the "stuff" is wanted. Not saying that's what you're saying in this post, but I would understand if it was. :)

I was gonna guess THE BABY, but I guess a box full of loot is just as good :-)

you'll be amazed how fast they outgrow the 0- 3 mo size clothes. we still have some with the tags on. like soap opera kids, they never had to wear the same thing twice and we still didn't get through everything that other folks gave them. it was awesome.

Haha wow! Norah has all kinds of stuff! She's one lucky girl!

Norah's going to love those little bath animals, in and out of the tub. They are just the right size for little hands to clutch.

I was going to same the same thing as Staurt and CJ. A lot of that stuff goes to waste LOL. I can't even tell you how many outfits we had that still had tags on them. But hey she'll be one stylin kiddo :-)
