First of all: Happy 4th of July to my fellow Americans! Today is Jerry's favorite holiday. For him, the 4th is like Christmas+Halloween+his birthday all rolled in to one. Why does he love it so much? Simple. TNT.
He takes boyish delight in lighting things and watching them explode. So, he's been waiting for today since, oh, about July 5th of 2008. He's got a Rubbermaid container filled to the brim with fireworks, he's got a case of beer, and he's ready for the fun to begin later this afternoon. Cross your fingers I won't have to cart him to the emergency room later.
In other big news, I want to congratulate my brother, Matt, on getting engaged yesterday! Here he is with future wife, and my future SIL, Heather, back in March when they came to visit us here in FL:
I knew he had bought a ring and was going to ask her this weekend, but it was still exciting to get the call from him last night announcing their engagement. I'm so happy for them both.
Of course, I wanted to crack a joke about how getting engaged is the opposite way of celebrating "Indepedence Day," but you'll be happy to know I refrained.

you are mean! (with the engaged v. indepence day thing) i love it.
Haha that's very clever!
Have a SAFE and happy fourth :)
That's so cool that Jerry gets to set off his own fireworks. That's not allowed her in SoCal (fire hazzard!) If peeps w/beer were allowed explosives out here, the entire county would probably be on fire!
Have a great 4th. Congrats to the bro!
Congrats to your bro! I bet Scooter is entertaoining as well!
Happy 4th!
Awww, congrats to them! (funny about the independence day comment)
happy 4th of July and here's hoping Jerry stays safe with the TNT!
Cograts to your bro, keep Jerry safe tonight...don't let him hurt himself with the beer and explosives:)
if you want to dissapoint him today, remind him that next year he won't be able to shoot off any fireworks without waking sweet norah from her slumber. and then he will have to face the wrath of ghengis khan a.k.a. the screaming child.
