Snaggle Tooth

I set out this evening on an experimental run to test the quads. I just went 3 miles, and I didn't take the Garmin because I didn't want to be focused on my pace; instead, I tried to keep it slow and easy. The run had some discomfort in the quads, but no pain, so I'm taking this as a good sign. I think I'll keep the runs short and slow the next few days and see how things progress.

In other news, I chipped my front tooth this evening. Actually, I initially chipped it about 12 years ago in a car accident, and it was fixed, but tonight it re-chipped when I ate an early evening snack. Of course, it chipped at about 5:30, and the dentist's office closes at 5 pm. So I'll have to call tomorrow to get an appointment to get it fixed. Until then, I'm incredibly self-conscious about my snaggle tooth.

chipped teeth hurt...at least there is no cold air to upset it.

Ouch... you really are accident prone aren't you. Good to hear you were able to run. Sounds like you have a good plan for rehabbing your quad. Have fun at the torture chamber (dentist) tommorow

So, is it like Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber? That's not so bad. Better than having a Jewel-like grill, which is truly snaggley. Is "snaggly" a word? I guess it is now.

I think the tooth would just make you look like a bad ass. If any of your up-tight neighbors give you a look about Sir Scoots, just sneer at them with The Tooth, and it'll be like "Don't F with Jess, ya heard?" Or something like that.

Self concious...snaggle tooth, snaggle tooth, you've got a snaggle tooth!

Glad the quads held up.

Ouch ! Keep an eye on the quads...if you continue to have discomfort, maybe take some additional time off.

No pic? :P

That happened to Mr McG not too long ago. Keira head butted his face and chipped his front tooth. Reason #578923473294728947 not to have children, huh? LOL

Wow, Jess. I've been away too long. I have the same tooth thingy, only mine came from a much less acceptable source - chewing on ice. It has held for several years, but periodically I screw it up and have to have it redone. Hope you get into the dentist soon.

Where do I sign up for Jesstianity?? I loved your last few posts and so glad I went back to catch up. I hope you had a fab birthday, you can tell Jerry, I'm still planning to celebrate tonight so in essence people all over the world (sort of) have been celebrating for a week. :D

I so wish you could have run with us. Your comments about the baggage and your early life really touched me. As you said we all have it. It's really what we do with it. Despite if it took you longer to grow up than you think it should have, you are a really grown up, accomplished, and bright woman.

I'm seriously going to raise a glass (of beer, of course) in your honor tonight.

XOXO
Nanc

I can't think of anything whitty to say after you called yourself Snaggle Tooth. LOL! Good luck getting it fixed and don't worry too much about it. Some people have much worse looking teeth and they don't even realize it.

I think you should keep it snaggley until your next race. Then you can turn and growl at the person next to you.

Great to see that the quads are feeling better. Sucks about the tooth, but Kevin has got it right: you really are accident prone.

Jess, that would hurt like hell. It was very unfortunate that the dentist's clinic is already closed at that time. I also had the same experience last year. In my case it happened in the morning. So I immediately went to the (Hixson) dentist to have it fixed. He is part of the group of reliable (Hixson) dentists that our family consults for cleaning and other dental treatments. That was not the first time that we consulted them for emergency dental care.

Hope that your problem is minor and it will be fixed in no time!
