Jess Runs on Dunkin'

On my way home this afternoon, I stopped by the grocery store for a few items. And what's right next door to the grocery store? Dunkin Donuts. Looking for a little pick-me-up for the afternoon, I decided to step into Dunkin and get a cup of coffee. Now, usually, I don't drink their coffee, but it was right there so I got a cup.

Yum-o! Marcy's right, that stuff is dang good. I wouldn't go as far as saying it's superior to Starbucks, but it certainly is a close rival, and based on what I'm about to reveal, is maybe also more powerful.

So, I got home, cleaned the house and then set out for a 4 miler. Here are the splits:

1: 8:56
2: 8:56
3: 8:49
4: 8:46

Total Time: 35:27

Yes, you are reading those numbers right, and yes, every mile came in as a sub-9er. Based on these abnormally fast digits I have concluded that Dunkin Donuts perhaps adds crack to their coffee. And if that's true? Fine with me -- I could become a Dunkin Devotee.

I LOVE Dunkin Donuts for their coffee and other assorted goodies. It really is probably a good thing that we don't have any near by.

Its a blessing that DD are everywhere here. I have to admit that the coffee are quite good compared to Starbucks. You have to try Colatta! Its awesome.

I don't even drink coffee and know "America runs on Dunkin."

I could become a coffee drinker if they add crack to it! Heck, even if it would give me 4 miles of 9:30ish splits, I would start iv's! That was one kickass run, especially after cleaning house!

Wow! I am IMpressed.

I promise I will get the heel crap fixed and can try to run soon. Until then, walking it is. (Found out I probably should not even be doing that either. Crap)

And your comment? Cracked me UP.

If that's the case maybe I should switch my pre-race routine from Starbucks and a blueberry muffin to some Dunkin Donuts and coffee. Nice run!

I just discovered the DD out here on the west coast and man is it delicious. We don't really have DD around here but thank god that their coffee is in the grocery stores! Woo Hoo.

No DD around here, but I have had the same experience after a Red Eye from 'Bucks. Good times (pun intended)

Holy smokes. What was in that coffee? You were flying!!

Wait, "Dunkin" Donuts? Shit, I thought it was drunken donuts. No wonder I couldn't run worth a crap when fueled up with them. Okay, I'm going to have to try your version.

Seriously, though, that must have been some damn jet fuel or something. Nice job on the run!! Must be all the training with wild animals.

Crack only makes me fast when I'm running from the cops because I've been selling it to school kids.

Hell of a job getting faster!

Holy crap! Look at those splits!

Maybe they should set up Dunkin Donuts stops during marathons instead of Gatorade.
