So, Anthony tagged me, but because I already did a "7 things about Jess" post last week, I figure I can turn the spotlight on my #1 squeeze this week: Scooter, my dog. Jerry's been gone since Sunday, and before that, he'd been camping, so it's pretty much just been Scooter and I for the past week. And while you may feel as though you know Scooter, here are some little known facts about my d-o-double-g:
1. Scooter has a lot of nicknames: El Scooterino, Scoots, Scootsie, Copper Top, Buddy, Fur Baby, Scootsie-Bootsie, and Scootah-Bootah. It's a wonder he knows his name at all.
2. Scooter sleeps with us in the bed, under the covers. He likes to burrow down and sleep by our feet. But since Jerry's been gone, he snuggles up on Jerry's side with his little puppy head on the pillow and the covers up around his neck. I think he thinks he's a person.
3. Scooter's worst fear is the vacuum cleaner. All I have to do is open the closet where the vacuum is stored and he's outta there.
4. After either Jerry or I get out of the shower, Scooter likes to hop in the shower and lick up the leftover water. Must taste like human-juice.
5. Scooter loves socks. But only socks that have just come off your dirty, stinky foot. Every day when Jerry gets home from work, he sits down and takes his socks halfway off his feet, and Scooter takes them off the rest of the way. Then he (Scooter, not Jerry) runs all over the house in sock-triumph. He especially loves my socks after I've returned from a run. Yum-O!
6. If given the chance, Scooter will eat a dryer sheet faster than you can say "Bounce." In general, he thinks laundry time is da bomb -- there's the chance he can sneak in a dryer sheet snack, he likes to lay in the warm laundry while I'm folding it, and there's always the chance that a rogue sock will cross his path.
7. Scooter will kill you for a Twizzler. He *hearts* Twizzlers. Strawberry flavored, please.
So, that's it -- all you need to know and more about my little brown dog. I tried to post some cute Scooter-pics to help illustrate the 7, but Blogger is being a be-atch. Enjoy without the pics, and if you'd like to share the bits and pieces of random tidbits about your own pets, consider yourself tagged.

Scooter and I sound so much alike, I think we could be good friends. Socks, Twizzlers, and shower water: really, is ther anything better?
Dogs rock. Nuff said.
I'm glad I'm going home this weekend!
Great idea, Jess! I think I have revealed every single thing about myself but my dog...my family members...oh this could get good!
ack! scooter is infinitely cooler now that we know the man behind the fur!
Scooter is as cool as you describe him. And, now I feel so much better about him stealing my dirty sock from the bedroom, I was a little concerned that I just had really smelly feet.
Awesome! I love it. When I was in law school I got a beagle and named him Scooter. 10 years later, we find out my 3 year old is allergic big time. We had to choose between Scooter and my 3 year old....it took a little while to decide, but we had to give our dog away.
human-juice
That just doesn't sound right!? :-)
I think Scooter and I were separated at birth. I mean, just last night, Dee Dee had to kick me out of the luandry room. Something about going off my diet by eating bed linens ;-)
I was gonna say that, David! Grace does the same thing with the Vacuum cleaner.
Great factoids.
Bandit has lots of nicknames too.
Oddly, one of my cats is the sock lovers in our house, but not the dirty ones...she likes to take the clean ones out of the laundy basket. We come home sometimes to find a trail of 8 or so socks at various distances from teh basket that always lead to the cat...LOL
How cute, I just pictured him laying under the blanket and on the pillow.
There is this cereal commercial out now where the dog jumps in the bed and looks like a person sleeping.
#5 reminds me of a dog a bf of mine had. Except that thing would go after used tampons. NASTY!
I haven't tried twizzlers...but my dogs go CRAZY over some jelly beans! They'll even eat some of the bad flavors (although black licorice and cinnamon definitely get spit out!!) : )
What a great doggie Scooterino is. Fun post.
Just want to *hug* that little mate! You and Jerry are so lucky to have a cool fur-kid.
You're dog is cute!!!
yeah. my dog, maxfli, likes to lick my feet once I get out of the shower. very weird.
A lot of those sound like my dog, especially the sleeping under the covers thing. I think I'll steal this idea for my post today!
Very cute. Love their personalities. Must be the short hair why he likes to be under the covers, my dog does that too!
I don't have my own dog, but the lady I'm renting from has too...I'm contemplating a post with my seven thoughts every time I come home and see them....
that was awesome! you could substitute "Parsenn" for Scooter, and all would still be true except 7...and I'm not sure about Twizzlers, but I'll get back to you.
Great post!
Too cute! My puppy at home with the 'rents hates the vaccuum as well... scared to death, curious, but scared.
2,3,5 &6 apply directly to Angel...I think Scooter and Angel are related!
Wrigley (my furry beast) also fears the vacuum ... but has a worse fear. COOKING. I turn on the oven, or put a pan on the stove and she disappears into her hiding spont and will not reappear until she can be safely assured the danger is over. I must be a really bad cook.
aaahhhh, Scooter sounds so cute!
I love dogs, but don't have enough time for one, so I have my cat!
Bailey can't stand the vacuum cleaner!
