Flew in Last Night

And boy, are my arms tired!

Har-har.

Anyhoo, yes, the hubby and I arrived home at about 12:30 am last night (or, more accurately, this morning). Originally, we were on separate flights, and I was scheduled to get in around 5:30 pm and he was scheduled to fly in at 11:40 pm, but as I was waiting at the gate for my flight, they announced that they had over-sold the flight and were requesting volunteers to get bumped to the later flight. I volunteered and got on the same flight as Jerry, I got a $300 voucher (which helps re-coup some of the cost of having to change his ticket), I got some meal vouchers, and I got to fly first class (it's glorious up there -- I never want to return to coach again).

Despite the perks, the day was long because I was essentially at the airport or on a plane from 11 am until 11:40 pm. Needless to say, I am now very familiar with the MSP airport, I finished my book "Stardust" and read about half of another ("Bringing Down the House" -- interesting, very interesting -- makes me want to visit Vegas).

So, with only 6 hours of sleep, here I am: back at school, and I don't know if I can fully express how much I don't want to work today. Especially because Tuesday is my long day and I'm here until 9 pm this evening. Uck.

Oh well, I'll muscle through: I'm tough. And highly caffeinated.

We did have a great trip, and I have some great pics to post, but I don't have time today. Soon, I promise some entertainment soon. I also hope to run tomorrow. It's been a full week since I last ran, and my legs are starting to atrophy -- well, maybe that's in part to the 12 hours I spent sitting yesterday.

Glad you're back safe. Hang in there through the long day. I was going to suggest caffeine but you are already working on it! The voucher is a nice end to the trip.

Ah, the airport. Always a pleasure. Glad you got some goodies for your troubles. First Class is the best! Good luck with the rest of your day.

Yeah, It was real nice of you to bring back free first class drinks to your husband in coach...oh wait, you didn't do that. At least you switched halfway through the flight with Jerry since his legs are slightly longer than yours and he needed to stretch out...oh wait you didn't do that. Well, at least you were able to pound some free first class drinks...oh wait, Jerry said you didn't do that either. One foot in the ivory tower and you instantly forget your roots. Don't forget us peasants Jess.

Hopefully you can find your happy place, and take a nice little waking nap at some point. Get crazy with the eye shadow and paint your eyelids up with iris and pupils (whats the plural of iris?) to help you out.

Glad you're back safe!

I hear you on the 'not wanting to work' front. I just had my first morning class post-spring break and I'm a zombie.

Working is the last thing I want to do, but exactly what I have to do. Good to know I'm not the only one!

That is the best bumped flight story I've ever heard. Hope today wasn't too brutal. Can't wait for pics.

Airports, always an adventure once you enter. I wish my mind could work like the guys in "Bringing Down the House."

MSP is one of my fav airports and all (easiest trip through customs EVER) but I envy the fact that they think chillin' there is so painful that it's worth such lush amenities! Good on you!

Happy both of you made it back without foul!

Glad to hear your home safely. I always have to have a few recovery days after taking a trip somewhere!

That sounds like a great deal on the flight, even though you had to hang around an airport forever. First class sounds awesome! Can't wait to see all the pics and hear all the stories :)
