Early Morning

We're dog-sitting for some friends -- Wilson, pictured here to the left of Scooter, is a pug/beagle mix but he mostly looks pug, doesn't he? Anyway, because of the extra dog in the house, and thus in the bed, I didn't sleep great last night.
Then, they were both up at 5 am -- ready to go outside and eat breakfast. After our walk and the dispensing of food, I decided to just stay up. Normally, I go back to bed after taking Scooter out, but that's because he'll eat his breakfast and then crawl quietly back into bed for awhile. But when his friend is here? Fat chance of that. They were both wild this morning, so I thought it best to close the bedroom door, let the hubby sleep, and I started the coffee.

Since I was already up, I decided to go for my run early. I did a slow 3 miles (I didn't take the Garmin along, but I know my times were no where close to what I did on my 6 last night), and it was nice and cool this morning -- humid, but much cooler. It's a good feeling to have that run outta the way for the day, especially since Thursday is my long day at school.

Hopefully, these two will wear one another out today and they'll crash tonight: here's to wishful thinking!

I like beagles, not pugs so much.

where did you find the cool weather this morning? and why does it happen the day I'm not outdoors. I'm jealous...

sorry, I wasn't trying to be a hater. my endorphinless duldrums are getting the best of me...sure, low 80's are better than 90's, but still far from ideal. I guess it is all relative now...

I thought it was cool out this morning too. Hmmm...maybe falls finally on its way!

Yeah, dog sitting is a kick to the human sleep pattern. Good luck. I have a feeling Wilson, Scooter, and Annie will be getting together this weekend to blow off some steam.

Adorable little guys! Aren't dogs a great way to get your butt out of bed in the mornings? I'm finding that to be true, anyway.

What cute dogs!

I love the feeling of running first thing in the morning. I feel like I've accomplished something before my day's even really started!

The only good thing I can think of for running in the morning is just to not have to think about it for the rest of the day ;) Look at that! Your baby had a friend spend the night!

My roommate was out of town for a week, so I had to watch both my dog and her pug (named Yoda). My dog never sleeps on the bed (he's big and I move too much), but Yoda insisted on trying to sleep on my head! I'm glad my roommate is back.

Hope school went well for you.

ah, wilson is my new friend. your lack of sleep was rewarded by lots of doggy kisses, right?

Makes you wonder what those two think about when they see each other. Life is so simple for them - and easy too - free bed, free food, free time, free everything!

That was so nice of you to stay up with the dogs and let hubby sleep!

Cooler temps is definitely better, especially if the humidity is still high!

Cute picture of the pups!

Nice thing about an am run is not worrying about it for the rest of the day. Agreed. Nicely done.

we have two cats that do that every morning... and everynight... run run run, jumping around and tearing around the house. I have had to confine them in the office so we can get some sleep.
