Sleepy

I had class until 9:15 pm yesterday, got home about 9:45, ate the dinner my husband had made me. Helped take the wild hounds outside, and was in bed by 10:30 -- was probably unconscious within minutes. I was pooped.

And I could've kept on sleeping this morning, but I had to get up early to sub for an 8 am class -- my own class on Friday isn't until 11 am, so I normally get to sleep in until about 8 or 8:30 before meandering in. So, I'm sitting here sipping my coffee and wishing I could've had about 2 or 3 more hours of sleep.

Seriously, I don't know how people get by on 6-7 hours on a regular basis. I need a solid 8-9. Or 10.

And it's not like I get to sleep in on Saturday morning -- I need to meet the group at 5:30 am tomorrow for my long run, so that means I need to get up at about 4:15. Yippie. Maybe when I get home this afternoon around 3, I'll just go back to bed and stay there until tomorrow. Sound good? To me, it does.

I need 8-10 too :-) but I've been getting by on 6-7 for a long time now. Kids are like that..

Ha! I fully believe I need at least 10, too, but I am usually incredibly lucky to get 6, 7 on a great day. I'm with Wes and blame the children ;)

I would get more sleep if I could sleep in later. I'm one of those (like a toddler) that doesn't want to go to sleep in case I miss out on something super cool. But, having a J-O-B, I still have to get up on time. That usually limits me to 7 or less hours of sleep. One of these days I'll get into a routine of getting to bed before 11:30 or so.

David pretty much summed me up. I hate going to bed early because it's my ME time and I feel like going to bed early is like wasting precious moments to myself LOL

I wish I could sleep, period. This 5-7 hour crap of late is killing me!

I say take a nap this afternoon. I might go grab 20 minutes of sleep right now, actually. [gee, I seem really responsible lately.]

have fun tomorrow morning. I will wish for overcast skies and cool temps so you can enjoy yourself.

I have no idea how people survive on 5 or 6 hours. I love sleep.

I seriously think I'm some sort of mutant strain of college kid. I NEED at least 8 hrs of sleep. I prefer 9, but 10 is sometimes appreciated at the end of a long week.

I'm jealous of people my age or older who can survive and totally function on 5-6 hrs.

Over the years, I keep finding myself staying up later and later, thus getting only about 7 hrs of sleep. Sucks. Need more sleep... but our toddler is just like her Daddy, in that she likes to stay up late - we're talking like 10:30. So, that leaves me with no *Me* time.

Hope you get a nice cat nap in this afternoon. You may need it for that early morning you have tomorrow.

Have a great long run tomorrow!!!

I used to be like that. Then, I had kids. Weird how you can survive on much less. It's by choice, though. Gotta have those late night hours of peace :)

Hope your nap is restful and your group run goes well.

David, I too have a J-O-B but lately I have given up being on time. Those extra 20-30 minutes of sleep...ahhhh...

Seriously though, I work for a company that showing up by 8am is a rarity. I only try to make it in by 8 so I can get an hour's worth of work done uninterupted. I think that is why I hate getting up 1.5 hours early to bike.

I'm not impressed by those "I survive just fine on 3-4 hours of sleep" wackos. They're usually featured on Fortune magazine or Business Week, some over-achieving high-strung exec. But what do these geniuses do with all their extra time awake - work! WTF!

I'm an 8-10 hr. per night gal, too. This whole nursing school/work full-time really throws a wrench into it most nights.

On any occasion that I can sleep in, I take it.

I *heart* sleep...

I can swing it on 6-7 hours for about a week and then I need one night where I sleep about 12 hours. Seems to come and go in waves like that. I get very grumpy though. :>P
