So, onto preggo running "take two":
Yes, I was finishing up the streak while preggo, but it was very, very early then and I actually didn't know I was pregnant then. Still, it does explain why the last week or two of the streak felt so draining and tiring.
Since the streak's end and the discovery of pregnancy #2, I have continued running, but have been keeping it short and slow -- not intentionally. In fact, I had hoped to be able to run the Halloween HM that I had planned on, but quickly it became apparent to me that the fatigue and barfiness from the 1st trimester were gonna hamper that effort. So, that's why I decided to throw in the towel on those race plans.
But, I do plan to continue running through this pregnancy, as I did when I was pregnant with Norah. And I would like to be able to race, but realistically, I think those races will probably be short distances.
Right now, I have been running about 3-4 days a week, and that's been fine. It's a good time of year to run, and while I'd like to be doing running that's faster and farther, I understand my limitations right now. So, in some ways, it's like starting a new streak: My goal is not to run every day, but it is to simply keep running for as long as this pregnancy allows me to do so.

I have wondered if it really is possible to run through pregnancy. I see women running 5K's pregnant and I just wonder if some women are able and some are not. Does it just depend on your body?
Continue to post about running while pregnant. Many women have concerns about it and having someone already experienced with it, you can make comparisons to before. I know several women that are concerned about it.
Congrats Jess! I must say that I am excited for you and a tinge jealous. I am also pregnant with my second and due in January. I have SPD (symphysis pubis disfunction) and do well to keep up with my walking during pregnancy much less running. You are such an inspiration and I enjoy reading about your progress.
Okay, you are my running motivation now. If you can manage to grow a human in you and still run, I can get my fat ass up and do it too :)
Great news that you are keeping up with some regular running so far. Hopefully you will be able to continue through the majority of this pregnancy as well.
I found your blog in my early first trimester (I think you were mid third at that point) and it was so much fun reading about running while pregnant. I was able to jog until about 27 weeks (did a very slow marathon at 20 weeks) and then I waddled right up until the day I had my son. Wishing you a safe, happy pregnancy full of fun running.
When I was pregnant with my second baby I kept running for a bit. I did a 10K while I was pregnant - I was just barley pregant and I also did 1 or 2 5k's. Then I hit the second trimester and my back hurt so much that running was out. Finally in the third trimester I was ready to run again but it was super cold (-20)outside and snow everywhere so of course I was not running then.
As another pregnant lady(I'm due late March), I'm definitely looking forward to reading about your new pregnancy and running exploits. Congrats again!

CONGRATS CONGRATS CONGRATS!!! So exciting!! Holy crap! I couldn't beleive what I just read when I got onto your blog, I was so confused for a minute until I scrolled down and saw the first entry!! How funny is it that round 2 we are pregnant at the same time? I found your blog because I was a pregnant runner looking for fellow pregnant runners and reading stories on their trials/tribulations with running while pregnant!

I'm sure you'll do just as good as you did last time. You could also use this time to focus on shorter races like 5 and 10K's for a change. I set a goal to do a 10K every month of my last pregnancy and it was cool because it gave me a little challenge so I still had some focus.

Yay! Congratulations! I started reading when you were late in your pregnancy with Norah, so I'm looking forward to hearing about the earlier days of pregnant running- even through the "barfisodes."
