This morning I had my glucose screening, which meant I couldn't eat breakfast before my 9 am appointment; then, I got there and bravely chugged my orange flavored drink. It didn't taste too bad, and it was cold, so that was a benefit. And then I just had to sit around and wait an hour before they drew my blood. I was pretty hungry after I got out of there (I'm the sort of person who wakes up every morning hungry and eating breakfast is always the first thing I do), but other than that, I thought the whole thing was pretty simple, and they'll have the results when I got to my next dr. visit in a week and a half.
After my lab appointment, I drove to Boca to have lunch with Mrs. K. We met at Mizner Park and had lunch at a really great Mexican restaurant. It was great to meet her and spend some time sitting around and chatting, so that was a good reward for getting stuck with a needle this morning.
And considering that those two activities were the only things on my schedule today, you may not think I'd still need my afternoon nap, but sure enough, I got home around 2:15 and fell asleep while I was reading. I got up just before Jerry got home, and now we're getting ready to go out for the evening: A work friend of Jerry's is hosting a happy hour and then we're going bowling afterward. Should be a good evening.
Happy Friday, everyone!

Sounds like a great day (except the needle). Have a great w/e Jess!
I've had that orange drink before too and it was awful after fasting...I havent had orange pop since then ;) Ooh Boca, Boca Raton? Thats where my US relatives live. I get excited when I hear about it because there are only certain (mostly the major) US cities that I know anything about.
And that as they say was that!
See ... all the worrying about nothing :) I'm sure you'll pass with flying colors!
Hope you guys have fun tonight!
The orange drink is so flat. It's the worst part of the test.
Hope you had fun tonight!
Dang - now I got a jones on for some good Mexican
i don't know how long it's been since i've had a nap...i sure miss them...
I remember the glucose screening. We also went for Mexican Afterwards (it was the same day I found out I was having a boy). Happy Weekend!
The glucose stuff wasn't as bad as I thought it would be! It tasted like a melted orange popsicle. I think that if you fail the test, they call you almost immediately (I had to call for my results just to make sure, and they said I passed with flying colors so they weren't planning to call me).
That sounds like a great day. I think the worst part about the glucose test is anticipation of that awful drink. Then once you do it, it's not so bad. I too liked to reward myself with a little mexican food after my visits. I swear that's why they put the office next to a Chipotle.
Sounds like a fabulous day!
