Beach Day

Today, as per my mom-to-be request, we spent the day at the beach. And like always, it was so relaxing. There's just something about the combination of the sun, the smell of sunscreen, the rhythm of the waves, and the gentle breeze that sedates me, and I could spend all day long there. Which is pretty much what we did.

When we got home, we both took a long nap (there's something about sitting in the sun all day that wears you out), and then this evening, I went for a 3 mile run. It was a hot day today (the "feels like" temp was 96 this afternoon), and this evening, it was still hot as hades when I went for my run, but I just took it slow (do I have any other speed at this point?) and got it done. Summer runnin' is definitely not my favorite thing here in South Florida, and I expect it's going to become even more uncomfortable as I progress into the 3rd trimester, but I'll just take each run as it comes, and if I have to start taking walk breaks, so be it.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and all the moms out there got the chance to relax and enjoy the day!

Look how cute you are with your baby bump.

Sounds like a perfect day... although the hot run does not sound so fun! I can barely handle our Ontario heat in the summer; I would never survive in Florida.

Good job with continuing to run. I'm not even pregnant and the heat is slowing me down...

Look at that cute belly! And you are amazing..running and yoga? What happened to sitting on your butt watching tv and eating ice cream? I thought that was what was supposed to happen when women are pregnant! :) If I've been tricked I may rethink this whole children thing... :)
