Notes from a Runner

How many times have you left a note like this one?Seems like Jerry comes home to this kind of note frequently. Sometimes the notes vary: I sometimes leave a note informing him of the time I left and the miles I expect to do so he can get a feel for my return ETA, but mostly, the notes are brief and to the point, like the one above that I left before heading out on my 3 miler this afternoon.

The run went pretty well, especially considering that with all the rain today, the humidity is about 82% out there, so it was like running in a terrarium. Still, I was able to finish it up in 28:57. Not too shabby for the conditions.

82% humidity! Holy crap... I think that run could be considered a swim.

Your note looks so familiar! JP worries when I'm out running, so it includes miles planned and area I'm running (ex. splits at the high school, state park, neighborhood course, etc.).

wow, that is insane humidity.

nope, don't leave any notes here. No one to leave them for! ha. But, I guess if I go out for a long run or ride, I usually let a friend know... just in case.

No notes here - I usually have to hand off kids LOL.

Yuck on that humidity! Good job getting the run in.

I know the humidity sucks!!! I am never a big fan of running in high humidity. However, you do have the bragging rights to run in wonderful condition during winter times.

Your "running slower because it's humid" numbers are still very impressive. :)

gotta love that wonderful humidity! although i like summers to be able to use the pool, i much prefer the cooler and drier winters. Nice run chica!

While I dont leave a note, I do always have to tell my wife when to expect me home and where I am going to run/ride at

When we lived in MI and I was running outside, I would leave notes like that but I would add a word or two to indicate where I was running- whether it was my "subdivision" route, my "downtown" path, or my "out and back"...

great job on the 3 miles!

Maybe I should put the "*heart* you, Jess" part on my notes.

Yep, I leave notes like that too.

On a long run, I might list the general direction I'll go, but it's hard because I often say "Gee, maybe I'll run along this path I've never seen before"

Gotta love the humidity. Yuck.

I see those notes quite often. Usually there's a 'coffee is ready' included.

Good for you getting out there and doing it with 80% humidity!! And a quick pace at that!!

You leave notes? You're such a lovely wife. Mr McG could only hope that someone would abduct me so he didn't have to deal with my crazy ass :P

Yeah...not too shabby on the sub-30 3 miler in the humidity...hell who am I kidding? I'd be thrilled with that in a dry spell...

This post is hysterical because I do that all the time too! I leave a note that says what time I left and how far I'm running so if I don't return, hubby will know when to send ot the search party. :)

(Nice time, btw!)

I do that sometimes but then realized that the cat cannot read and I felt quite silly :-(. Should do something about that.

Yep, I leave those notes all the time. We have a chalkboard by the back door. Usually, the notes say, "Running! Love, Mommy"
