Lazy Legs

My legs have been feeling fatigued this week, and at first I was puzzled since my mileage has not been anything out of the ordinary, but then it dawned on me this evening during my 6 miler that it's probably because for the last 3 weeks my legs spent their days propped up on the couch, but this week I'm back at school and that means several hours everyday standing in front of the classroom, in heels. So, I guess the legs need to ease back into the semester as much as my mind does.

Anyhoo, despite the tired legs, the 6 miles went just fine. The weather outside was pleasant and my brain was busy unwinding from the day, so the 6 miles went by quickly.

1: 9:46
2: 9:47
3: 9:41
4: 9:51
5: 10:01
6: 10:14

Total: 59:22

Now, I think I might do some foam rollering to try to ease some of this muscle tension in the pooped out leggy-legs while I watch Jeopardy! Dang, I'm a nerd.

I was going to say you are teaching again but you answered your own dilema right away. People forget how much energy it takes to stand all day. Good job on keeping up with the running.

I would love to be able to do 6 miles in under an hour! Good for you!!

I give you kudos for making it six miles after standing all day in heels. Thanks for the words of wisdom with the running. Maybe one of these days I can get to your mileage.

Consistent as always, Jess, way to go!

It baffles me how you can run mile after mile at almost the exact same pace.

I'm going to go bust out the foam roller too, gotta keep these legs in line as I rebuild my mileage!

Awesome 6 miles, Jess. Great splits!!

I bet you're right, standing on your legs all day probably made them more tired than you expected. The foam roller should help...

Oh, and by the way, your 6 miles w/ fatigued legs is still waaayyyyy better than I'll ever do 6 miles!! lol!

LOL! Easy on the "self massage". Not everybody can afford a "professional" :)

Great observation! My legs are usually killing me by the third day of wearing heals, and I sure can't run worth a crap.

I'm looking forward to more "Tales of Grading" as the papers start to roll in!

Take it easy! I hope your legs feel better tomorrow!

those look like great splits to me. Do you have Friday's off this semester or do you have a class of students to teach that would rather be sleeping on Friday?

Nice job, Jess. I am trying to cut back on the heals.. I think they have been bothering my knees!

I heart jeopardy. I wish I got home in time to watch it more often.

What kind of heels do you wear when you teach? Word on the street is heels can be bad for your toes.

I'm always amazed at how consistent your splits are. I wish I could run that predictably...

I just can not stand wearing heals either, that is why I wear my most recent old pair of running shoes to work :) I will admit that some women look just fine in heals :)
As for the massage, when I can not afford a "Professional" I turn to my "The Stick" or the "Trigger Point total package". Have a great weekend.

As long as you roll and watch with a beer I think you escape the "nerd" brand ;-)

Oh yeah, heals are killers. I'm so glad I get to sit on my big butt all day, ha. NICE 6 miles! Enjoy your weekend.

I heart Jeopardy but I can never get the questions on the second round.

If you could pad my times a bit, I'd be forever appreciative! :P

Doing fantastic even with these lazy legs?? Seriously, for sure it has to be the being on your legs all day. Even though those splits are nothing to sneeze at, speedy!
I love Jeopordy, especially kids week!

Those are great times, Jess even with the heavy legs. I bet you're sorta glad to be back into a routine, though.
