Fall Back

It always seems like each day needs an extra hour in order to get everything that needs done, done. So, once a year, we get to see what that's like. And I gotta say, it's awesome.

I got up this morning feeling refreshed from a long sleep and was delighted to look over at the clock and see that it was still early. I wrote my final draft of the book review I've been working on (when it's published in December, I do recommend "The Athlete's Guide to Yoga" by Sage Rountree -- I mean, isn't her name enough to demonstrate that she's a practiced yogi?), I graded some papers, I finished the laundry, and I returned a call to my dad. All before noon!

Plus, with the temps here in South Florida finally cooling off, I opened up the house today and it felt great to turn off the air conditioner, and have a fresh breeze blowing through the condo. This added to the relaxing afternoon I spent on the back porch in a chair reading my book ("The Thirteenth Tale" by Diane Setterfield -- another recommended read; it's quite absorbing).

And, in the cooler temps, my late afternoon 3 miler felt perfect (THIS is the season to run here in FL). And now, I have a deliciously buttery chicken baking in the over, and as I type, a cool breeze is wafting in off the porch. Could a Sunday be any better?!

(sign) your Sunday sounds perfect! I love it when you can finally crack the windows (here in the Spring) and let in a fresh breeze. It's the best!

I'm glad you enjoyed your productive day!

Sounds like a great day. No fall back for us in AZ. :<(

Hey, what do you think of all the controversy surrounding "The Golden Compass" series? My ds just finished the first book and really liked it. Have you read them or heard about them? I am going to read it before I let him go any further. I guess some of the content is rather mature?

Sounds like a lovely Sunday.

Fall back wasn't as fun for me since I had to get up at some rediculous hour to pick up my son. But I'm going to enjoy it tomorrow. :)

Dang I'm so jealous of the weather. Sounds so nice!

I don't know how the heck you slept through. Man, my body was up and at it without the aid of an alarm clock :-/

'Tis the season for running!

Thanks, Jess! Are you going to read them? I only know one other person that has read them and she thought the first book was fine.

Invariably, I stay up (at least) one hour later when we fall back. Come to think of it, I do that when we spring forward also. Hey, at least I'm consistent.

Wow, sounds like a relaxing vacation, yet all in your own home. Man, I can remember those days of laying around reading, before the munchkin came along - that is. No more. Remember this, Jess. :-)

Wow just reading your post made me feel relaxed. I'm also jealous that you get to still have your windows open. Ours are closed up tight because those temps are starting to dip down into the 30's and 40's.

I was just curious if you had read the books or if you had any thoughts about the controversy. You mentioned reading your book and for some reason my brain went there and I wanted to chat about it. that is how my brain works sometimes.

BTW, off topic again...I read your comment on Wendy's blog about cleaning for vacations and I am the same way!! I cannot walk out the door until the house is spotless. My Dh thinks I am crazy to have to have it like that to leave.

What a lovely day. Can I have your life please? :)~

Falling back messes with the 2 year old's sleep schedule. He was up at 5:45 a.m. Unfortunately, I stayed up until 11 p.m. He doesn't get the whole sleeping in thing. Darn toddler.
