A Day in the Life of Jess

Taking a cue from Marcy, Lisa, and David, I decided to document my day in some pics. So, first up: Me getting ready this morning -- the mirror shot is an homage to Marcy. In the car on the way to work -- got the coffee in one hand, camera in the other. Who needs to steer?
My office at school. Yeah, pretty plain. But I have a reason for that. See, our building is slated to be re-modeled at the beginning of 2008 and we're going to have to move to another building temporarily, so I figure: Why decorate when I'll just need to move all my stuff? I figure, once the building is done, and we're back in our new offices (which are supposed to be double the size) then I'll decorate. For now, it's pretty blah. But, I have a window!
One of the classrooms I teach in. This classroom is in one of the older buildings, so it's pretty low-tech. But it's where the magic takes place: This is where I dazzle my students!
At the end of the day, I went for a run. A storm is blowing in, so it was a bit windy, but that also means that it was cooler out.
I put in a 6 solid miles, and the splits were as follows:

Mile 1: 9:55
Mile 2: 9:56
Mile 3: 10:05
Mile 4: 10:06
Mile 5: 10:14
Mile 6: 10:00

Total Time: 1:00:20 -- 16 seconds slower than my Monday 6er. I blame the breeze.

Now, my belly is full of delicious chicken parmesean, and I am prepared to spend the rest of the evening chillin'. There's the start of a new season of "Project Runway" and I can't wait for the fashion drama!

Hope everyone had a stupendous day!

I think your office looks pretty full and neat. Good thing you dropped your plan to come and clean here!

Very nice! You are very lucky to have a window... I don't! I don't have an office either... or a classroom of my own... :)

You look great. Did you say, I'm having a good hair day, let's do pictures...

I'm totally jealous of the mileage, great work. I barely got 3 in, thought I was going to die!!

Usually when it was cooler out (back when I used to run, you know) I would wear a few pairs of sweatpants, gloves, hat, underarmour, wind breaker, a running jacket, and at least two pairs of socks. As opposed to your tank top and visor.

I really need to move to Florida some day. Although I hear it can get a little 'breezy' during hurricane season.

My 'word verification' is 'lvrmcj' (Lover Mc J? I don't know, it just seems weird!) I thought I would share that with you, although once a professor of mine got "pigfkr" during class...

It's a treat to see you dressed up since we usually are in our walking clothes or drinking clothes. You are lookin' good!

The office picture deserves two comments from me-one, jealous you have a window and real walls/door but I have a phone that isn't circa 1900. I am surprised it had touchtone rather than rotary dialing :) I should take a shot of my faux office someday. Heck, I should learn how to post pictures to liven mine up.

You're freakin' adorable Jess! Love the "Jess day". It was awesome!

Love the digits on that run! You motivate me to get back to where I was (which is what you're running 6at). Thanks for that! It helps.

Hair looks great!!

My classroom and office dont look much different. In fact, my office looks much worse considering I work in a concrete building with teeny-tiny windows.

Awesome pictorial! I had kind of wondered what the class rooms look like there. I guess that's pretty close, but a bit more "Summer School" (with Mark Harmon) than I imagined.

I'm jealous of the window. I just took another lamp into the office because I am in a cave.

Oh, and great, solid run! There are so many factors that could play into that small time difference, but blaming the wind sounds good to me. Some times if I get all ticked off at a close passing car, I start to imagine some form of retribution, and my pace slows down. When I notice, I pick it back up. Then there's the bio things...
