Much Better

Feeling a lot better (mentally, emotionally) than I have all week. Mostly, because:
A. It's Friday!
B. It's payday!
C. I got a run in!

This afternoon, I got home and did a few household chores (my house elf is a real slacker), and then determined that I was gonna fix my mp3. See, what I haven't told you is that the good ol' trusty mp3 (I hope that statement is dripping with sarcasm) took a poop again, so for the last two weeks, all I have been able to listen to is the same 10 songs over and over. And actually, I don't think it's the mp3's fault -- it's really Rhapsody and Real Player's fault, so I dialed the familiar tech support number and spent a solid hour on the phone with Sahrish is India. Finally, Sahrish and I were able to re-format the player (yet again), update the Real Player software (yet again), and re-download my songs to the mp3 (yet again).

Yay!

So I had my tunes back for the run. Plus, as I was lacing up, Scooter was giving me the look-at-me-I-have-cute-brown-eyes-and-would-like-to-go-run-with-you-stare so I said, "what the heck," and I leashed him up. Running with Scooter is erratic, but it's fun. He loves to run and the joy he gets is obvious -- tail wagging, ears flopping in the breeze, tongue hanging from the side of his mouth -- and seeing his excitement always helps restore my own love and excitement for running.

Scooter can't hold out for real far (his method is simple: sprint for as long as possible and when you tire, pretend that you need to sniff something), so we only went 2 miles, but it was what I needed: the return of my mp3 and my Scoot d-o-double-g!

I'm impressed that you stayed on the phone for an hour with Sarish in India. I call Hewlett Packard all the time about my laptop, and after 30 minutes I've usually already lost my mind.

You sound great, despite the hour with Sahrish. I would be pulling my hair out. Glad it all worked out! Scooter thanks you.

Ohh, I can just feel your enthusiasm about dealing with Sahrish!

When I was working this summer, we worked with some folk over in India. I would spend a lot of time on the phone with them, it was a communicational hazard!

glad to hear you had a better day and a good run. I hope you had some scooby snacks for Scooter after tiring him out like that. Have a good Saturday.

Personally, I would have spent the hour spending the payday money on a new MP3 player or I would strongly hint to the hubby that Xmas is around the corner. I have no patience for tech support and that little gadget has caused you nothing but pain.

Cool that Scoots got a run in. Maybe next time you can take Annie. She likes to run and could pull you when you get tired.

Awwww, that sounds like a great run!

Sounds like someone may need a new mp3 player or Ipod for Christmas. I love my little ipod, and luckily haven't had any trouble with it.

Glad you got it all fixed and was able to enjoy a nice run! I'm sure Scooter was happy to be out there with his momma too.

As far as the hair: I sometimes (secretly) like the curls, and don't straighten it as much as I used to. David doesn't like it straight as much as he does curly. Today, I'm back to curly, but boy it needs a trim.

BTW - meant to say Thanks for the compliments on the hair!

Is it weird that out of that whole post I was most entertained by your comment 'My house elf is a rdeal slacker'?? Haha

I need a dog to get me out for 2 miles and then get me to quit after 2 miles. Good for you.

Uh oh, looks like someone is about to have a permanent running partner! I'll bet the Scootster had a blast, and took a nice nap afterwards. Sounds like a great idea, actually!

I am going to try that sniffing thing on my next run. I usually stall taking a Gu but they are on to me now so I need a new technique.
