The Stars Have Re-aligned

Tonight's run was much better than yesterday's run: The Garmin found its satellite signal right away and I never lost reception so I had accurate digits, the weather continues to be perfect in both temp and low humidity, and I simply had a "good" run. 4 miles in 37:30.

And I know that most of you, who are like me and like to run in the evening, are peeved that it gets dark so quickly at night now, but because I'm one of those lucky people who get home at about 4 o'clock in the afternoon, it means that I get home, do a few things around the house, and then lace up. Which means that it's not even 6 pm now, and I've already run and showered. Gone are the July days when I waited until 8 or 9 at night to run -- gawd, winter in FL so flippin' sweet! I have the entire evening ahead of me!

So...(twiddle my thumbs)...what should I do with this time now?

You deserve getting home at 4 but it still makes me jealous that I can't be home early. I need a new job. One where I don't have to answer to anyone, get paid well, and barely have to show up. Does it exist? I know it does...I work with some people like this. How do I get their job?

Your schedule makes for good early evening running. Lucky you!

You have an awesome schedule but I am more jealous of your awesome winters. Is 35 too young to become a snow bird?

Nice run!

Can't help you on what to do as I haven't been caught up on life in, oh, about 7 years LOL. Beer Geek gets home at 4:15, so I often get to run early too. It's quite nice.

I have to say that the sunny mornings are nice, too. Though, I only have one day a week that I can squeeze in an early AM run! Blargh. This is why people get gym memberships. I flippin hate treads.

i remember when I used to get off that early. I miss it. Do you have to wake up super early though?

Just when I was starting to get used to running in the evenings and enjoy the temps in the 50's... it sounds like we are in for some very cold weather! Blech.

So glad to hear the stars have re-aligned. yay!

It's supposed to be 40 tomorrow. I hate the entire state of Florida. :o)

Oh, I'm jealous. It's dark when I leave work since I usually leave at 6-ish. I'm not a morning person though so I'm okay with doing it when it's dark.

I'm glad you had a great run.

Oh yeah, this weather definitely rocks. I am SOL for running before dark seeing as I get home about 20 minutes before it's pitch black but the night runs aren't too shabby.

So, what did you do w/your free time?

I finally wanted to get out and run last night. But I didn't get home until 6:30 pm. And it was too late to go out. A few month ago I would have had 3 more hours of daylight remaining.

Aren't you lucky! Just relax and enjoy the extra time at night.

Nice job on the 4 miler! I'm jealous you get home and out to running so early!

I knew you would come back with a great run! I am telling you, have to pay the piper everyonce in a while.

I love getting things done early. It makes me fell "together".

try bocci ball practice. it will come in handy someday.

since i work at home i usually get my runs in around 10 am. but man i wish i had some time in the evenings. The wife throws babies at me when it's time for me to stop working. then it's bath time, sleepy time for them and parenting blackout time for me.

Great job! I get off at 3..I hear ya on the occasional boredom, but I have a second job, so it doesn't affect me as much. You should start watching some reality tv. I recommend America's Next Top Model, Biggest Loser, anything on MTV or TRUTV, Survivor, Heroes, Amazing Race...
