Anyway, got another 3 miler in this evening, and it was a nice smooth run, but I didn't bring the Garmin...because I was running with Jer! Yes, you read that right. Jerry and I were running together.
So, it's official. I have outed him as a runner. He's been running since early summer, but only on a supplementary basis. See, he started this whole exercise and eating healthy business last May, and he's been really successful at (he's lost about 40 lbs!), and he started running a few days a week to supplement the monotony of the gym. Now, I've basically twisted his nipples until he agreed to run the Turkey Trot 5K with me on Thanksgiving morning and he's committed to a little extra running to get ready for the race.
We're gonna run the race together (that was his one demand -- I could not "leave him in the dust"), and I'm looking forward to running a race together! I hope he likes it. He has been reluctant about committing to it, and has asserted that it by no means will he do other races, but I secretly think that it will give him the "running bug." We'll see. I can't force him to like running (he currently states that he hates it, but likes that it's such an efficient calorie burner), and I can only twist his nipples so much. Because, eventually? He twists back.

First!!
Good for Jer-bear!! That is so awesome!!! But did you have to point that brown eye at me? :-)
WTG Jerry! That great that he wants to run with you. I am still waiting for the day when mine comes with me.
Your posts are cracking me up with the brown eye and the dinner conversation.
Awesome that he'll do the race with you! I have stopped trying with my husband.
That is so awesome that Jerry is running. I can't wait to hear about the Turkey Trot, how fun.
Great pictures too.
I'm so excited for you and Jerry! And 40 lbs? Wow, way to go, dude.
And the brown eye? You just had to share that, huh? :)
Good for Jerry! Running with your spouse is the best. Hubs and I have great quality time on long runs together. Have a great weekend Jess!
that's great! my husband was my running buddy until his knee crapped out. brown eye is too funny. i occasionally find my dog's little poophole locked and loaded, pointing right at me too.
THat is too cool that you guys get to run together! How sweet!
YAY for Jerry and you guys doing it together- way to be supportive Jess!
BTW- I canNOT stand when my dog licks herself when I'm anywhere near her. It totally grosses me out.
That's so awesome that he's running with you. Beer Geek will never run with me. I have to be happy that he walks on the treadmill while he watches the news.
Could have done without the dog butt though. ;o)
That is too cool! Good for him!
It's funny reading this because my hubby is the one who convinced me to start running.
That's awesome Jerry is running with you AND planning on doing a race! I hope Oliver will do the same. :)
PS:
Scooter's got three brown eyes: two that wink and one that stinks.
That's awesome! Great for Jerry. That will be a good race for both of you to enjoy and you can encourage him to race his butt to the finish line.
way to go jerry! it's good to get the spousals involved. my wife was actually the one who suggested we start marathon training. Good luck to you both at the turkey trot.
I don't know what is more disturbig or shocking-the brown eye or Jerry running. Either way, I think it's great Jerry is going to run with you.
So, I guess runnning the Disney World Marathon together is out of the question. Jaclyn and I did this several years ago and it had to be the most fun we had running together.
Aww, that's awesome! I hope he begins to enjoy it as much as you. Good luck to you both on the race.
hey that's great! not about the brown eye- about Jerry running...I twisted G's nipples to play tennis with me- I guess that does the trick :)
is that the only race on Thanksgiving?
We started a scrabble game last night, but didn't finish either. My wife was kicking my butt!
I thought Jerry looked thinner in that 2 piece from Halloween. WTG, Man!!
OK so here is the plan...when Shane and I make to FL for July 4th we all do the Weston
5K and have like a quad fight or something :-) j/k
YAY! What great news! I love that you guys are running together now! And once he runs a race, he'll be hooked.
Now, more importantly, that first picture is freaking awesome! I love the pics of Scooter. I always show them to J.
That's a glorious ass shot!
...oh yeah, and congrats to Jer for losing forty pounds! It took me a couple years to do that.
LOL my rottweiler Kylie's favorite position is on her back with her legs spread like that... its hilarious.
Cool. Will you be wearing matching running outfits? :)
