Stupid 3 Miler

For some unknown reason, my Garmin kept losing its signal on my run this evening. Honestly, I think the Garmin may be circling the drain, but until it actually dies, flat out dies, I am not going to replace it.

So, despite having inaccurate numbers, I can tell you what the Garmin would tell you if it had recorded time and distance correctly: My run this evening sucked. No tangible reason why -- the weather is perfect, I slept well last night, my eating is normal, I'm not sick, I'm not stressed, and as far as I know, the stars are in the heavens where they belong -- it just sucked. It felt like I was really laboring, it was taking forever, I felt a little dizzy part way through, and I walked twice for about 30 seconds a piece because I just felt "blah."

I don't know, maybe it has some cosmic connection with election day; perhaps all those indecisive voters at the polls have some kind of kinetic resonance in the atmosphere -- collective tension or something. Hmmmmm, something tells me there is no scientific data to support that hypothesis, but I'm grabbing at straws here people.

I can't stand it when a run goes to the shitter. It's so annoying and makes you wonder what you did wrong. But, it sounds like every factor is leaning towards a good run... must have something to do with the allignment of the starts or something.

There's definitely something in the air today with the election. Who knows? The energy may have thrown us all off balance a little bit.

You'll be kicking arse out there again in no time.

You have had a pretty good stretch for the past week or two. You are allowed an off day once and a while. I think it was overcast in an eery way today. Something didn't seem right all day long.

Hey you got out and ran, that's what counts!

Hey, it's an excuse you can rarely use so I would take it. It's never fun when the run goes crappy but there's always the next one to look forward to.

Bummer about the run. It stinks when it seems like it SHOULD go well and doesn't. But, at least those three miles count!

Some days are just like that. At least you got it done...

My Garmin was totally acting wonky tonight as well (again)! I guess I have to ask for a new one for my birthday.

I hate runs like that! Thankfully they don't seem to happen that often.

I'd blame the Garmin...yeah, that's it...it's the Garmin's fault :-)

It funny how some days you can get out there and run 10 miles with no problems and then some days you struggle to get 1 mile in.

Way to just get through it.

Ugh I know what you mean. Those runs suck. Just chalk it up to one of those runs that happen and kick ass on your next one!

LMAO! I hear you. All that crazy energy in the air. Sounds like a good excuse to me.

I'm all for believing in cosmic interference when I have a crappy run.

Eh, blow it off, go for another run, and all will be well.

hahaha... i think your erection, i mean ELECTION theory may be correct...

i ran 2 miles then went to my polling location to vote. now, i KNOW it was 2 miles since i run it constantly. garmy thought it was 1.4 miles at 16 minute mile pace or something like that.

even i'm not that slow.

after voting i hiked it another 2 miles and it was on the spot correct for the distance, however, it was telling me i was running all 9:15 miles and shizz.

who does that?

next time will be better ;-).

Blahs happen. I've been caught in one for almost two weeks now.

ugh...I hate when that happens. I guess you can be grateful it wasn't on a longer run...imagine not having the numbers AND having to force yourself through it if it was 15...that's my fear. Good job toughing it out!

Hmm, I too had trouble with my timing device. Perhaps it WAS something to do with Election Day. I vote that we decide our own pace.

Dude, screw that stupid 3 miler...forget about him! he he! I hate those runs that just suck for some unknown reason. So annoying. But on the bright side, it can only get better right! Go rock your next run! :)

LOL! Sometimes we have to pay the piper on the sucky runs is my theory.
Have you tried resetting the Garmin just throwing out what I have heard about people who it starts tripping out on.

Sometimes it is just a bad run. But the bad runs help make the good runs look even better! :)

I had a 6 mile run like that this morning. Went into it expecting a great, easy run, because I was coming off a few days off, and typically that gives me a great run. But, it was hard, and I actually got nervous about whether or not I can handle a 10K I'm doing this weekend!

Sometimes they just blow.
And at least it's done.
Now on to better things, like beer and naps.
