TGIT

Still feeling well this evening, I decided to cruise out for a 5 miler; besides, nothing clears up congestion like a good run.

It wasn't what I would label a "great" run, and I'm not even sure if it deserves an adjective like "good," but it was decent. And the splits? Well, they are what I like to call here at 21 Days, "positive splits":

1: 9:19
2: 9:35
3: 9:45
4: 9:48
5: 9:54

Total Time: 48:23

Felt good to get out there though, and now, I believe I will read for a bit. (I'm reading Jonathan Franzen's novel "The Corrections." I'm about 5 years behind on its popularity, but aside from winning dozens of literary awards when published, it is probably most famous because Franzen refused to allow Oprah to make it one of her Book Club books. I give him snaps for standing up to pseudo-God Oprah, but at the time of publication, it just got too popular for me -- despite the Oprah snub -- and I tend to be contrary to things that get too popular. Anyhoo...now I'm reading it, and it is pretty good so far.) Then? A new "The Office" and "30 Rock"! Woo-hoo!

I'm all about running as decongestant. My wife doesn't believe me, but it is so true. Off to watch The Office and 20 Rock too!

Amazing that you can run that like after a virus. I'm usually dying for a few days. I'm all about positive splits

good to hear you were able to get back out there. I know what you mean about running working well as a decongestant. You just have to learn how to aim away from others when you have to clear the nose

nice job on the fiver.

If I remember correctly and that isn't always the case, I think I read "The Corrections" on the flight back to California after Sept 11th. There were so few people I could have read aloud.

You know how I feel about positive splits. They are optimistic :-)
Glad you are feeling well. I may have to read any book that the author tell Oprah NO.

Um...aren't 30 Rock and The Office pretty popular? :)

I'm not pleased that The Office is getting a spinoff. I think they may have reached Jumped The Shark status.

Glad you are feeling better. When do you leave for the Disney race? Good luck. Now go kick Mickey's butt!

Another great Office episode! But if you missed Scrubs, you missed some funny stuff (unless, of course, you completely dislike the show).

I find it interesting that NBC is using themselves within their own shows, either for faux TV shows (as in the case of Scrubs), or even with how 30 Rock displays some love-hate aspects of the network and GE. Glad the dudes at the top have a sense of humor.

The Office was great! Glad you had a decent run, and in my eyes - looks like great splits - all under 10min/miles. Great job, Jess!

And I thought I'd be the only one that doesn't care too much for Oprah. My Mom would disown me if she saw what I just wrote.

I dig me some positive splits myself from time to time ;D

I'm glad he didn't let Oprah put him on her list. People need to start thinking for themselves instead of letting a media giant pick out their books for them.

Nice job on the run. I'll work on my attitude.

Super 5 you have there! Can't wait to hear what you think of the book, it's on my shelf right now and I keep searching for the motivation to pick it up.

Glad you feeling better. I laughed so hard at "The Office" last night. The last 30 seconds were absolutely classic. And the car thing....

I'm never home when any good TV is on ... so I Netflix "The Office" and buy each "Scrubs" season as it's released! Talk about being behind the curve ...

Looks like your run was pretty good!

Nice job on the run. I wasn't a huge fan of last night's Office episode. It was only so-so.

I have had the book on my shelf for about 5 years and have not picked it up yet. I don't understand the aversion to it. Let me know your final thoughts when done reading it.

Ha I just realized Chia said the same thing.

I have to admit that "30 Rock" is growing on me. I think it's a little like "The Office" - the more you watch, the funnier it gets. But I missed last night's ending - did she get her sandwich?
