Day 26

Still running.

And, that's really all there is to say about that. Hmmmm, a streak gets kinda boring to read about, huh? Thankfully, I'm not bored with the doing, so that's good.

Since I really don't have any good running stories today, I can share one brief post-running anecdote:

After a run, I need a shower. Stat. And, like many moms out there, I take my child into the bathroom with me while I shower. Typically, Norah entertains herself by playing with a few toys I bring in there with us, or by pulling underwear out of the hamper or by pounding on the shower glass and hollering for me to hurry up. But this morning, as I was shampooing, I noted that she was oddly quiet.

Not a good sign.

So, I opened the shower door a smidgen and saw her standing by the toilet having a grand time splashing in the water.

While her fascination with toilet water is charming, it's not new, and we've become accustomed as of late to make sure that toilet lids are down, but I must have forgotten earlier and there she was treating it with the same joy she would a water park.

Oh well. The toilet water was "clean" water and aside from soaking her shirt, her splashing was doing no harm, so I returned to shampooing, rinsing and repeating, but I hope that if she one day becomes a high-paid plumber who makes $300 an hour fixing a toilet in the "off hours" that she appreciates how I'm the one who nurtured her early career.

That's too funny!

BTW, in regards to the wedding dances, I am so sick of the chicken dance! I actually made a comment to the BF that I will not have that at my wedding and he looked at me funny....

Having a child must be such an adventure :)

There is far worse things she could have been doing. At least she wasn't dropping jewlery down the can, and at least Jerry didn't drop a duece in the toilet and she was playing with the Baby Ruth while you were showering.

LOL she was entertained and it was clean and you got a full shower!! I take Jack (dog) in the bathroom with me, if he gets quiet I know he's up to something. He likes to play with the toilet paper! I have to make sure I remember to put it up on the counter out of reach!

Funny. I'd like to know her reaction when she gets to be about 15 - 16 and you tell the story in front of her friends. ;)

You handle that situation better than I do. It always grosses me out! I worry that s'ghetti didn't flush the toilet and it usually ends up with LBM joining me in the shower. I think that's why he plays in the toilet. He loves getting a shower with mom, being held by mom, being naked and getting soaking wet at the same time! What could be better to a 22 month old?

I thought for sure you were going to say I picked her up and brought her in the shower with me after you saw that! LOL! But you're right, toilet water is clean - I would have just had to keep myself from gagging :)
Nice job on the streak girlie!

LOL well at least she wasn't getting in to any real trouble!

How long is this streak going, again? Good thing the toilet was "clean." Aren't you worried that you're dooming Norah to a lifetime of battling plummer butt?

I read your blog everyday and have never commented. I just enjoy your cool life and what a happy person you are. BUT.....while it is cute Nora played in the toilet water, please be aware she could also drown in a toilet bowl if she is left alone!!! She may even be strong enough now open the lid while you are in the shower and fall into the bowl head first. Please be very careful and I hope you don't mind me telling you this.
