Pleasantly Suprised

That I lost a few pounds. Not sure where I put them, but when I stepped on the scale this morning, I discovered I'd lost 3 lbs. Is it the mileage that's been building over the last six weeks or the effort to eat a little better or the effort to drink less? Or is it the work of elves? I'm not entirely sure, but I do know that if those pounds continue to remain lost, it will be less to haul across the finish line in Chicago.

*As a side note, about the book I discussed below: For those non-readers, it looks like you'll be able to catch "Twilight" in movie form (in about a year or two). I just knew it had to be optioned for a movie; as I was reading, I could picture it as film quite easily. And no, David, the ending is not so simple as the vampire making the human another vampire (even though that's what the human wants). And just so ya know, I did buy the other two books in the series, and I'm about 150 pages into the second one today -- I have literally had my nose in its pages between classes. Just as gripping as the first, in terms of plot.*

Hmmmmmm. I vote elves, but it is not in my nature to question things like this ;-)

Elvis? How could he be responsible for you losing weight? He lives in Spokane, for goodness sake! But, good job on the weight loss. Maybe your bowling arm isn't all pumped off with your time away from the lanes. Speaking of which, it's Thursday, no? Or is the season over?

Sorry, David, bowling's over for the season. Now, on Thursdays, I just have to teach boring ol class, so I doubt I will post any drunken ramblings after that.

On the other hand...

nothing ruins a good vampire story like plot.

There are some elves that live around here that do some crazy stuff. But stealing pounds? I don't know.

It's the beer....or lack of it. Plus the running too. :)

the lack of beer wins in my opinion. hope you are enjoying the new book...

on the garmin comment - I think it was just having issues. there was no way I was running 11:00 pace when it said I was, I think the lap time was accurate and it was just having issues getting a good signal.

I know where you lost them...I picked them up while I was in Chicago this week for work! It's hard to eat and excercise when people are buying you nice meals and drinks.

BTW, I have a great place for you to try when you are in Chicago for a real Chicago style pizza. Gino's East anyone? That was fabulous!

i think your pounds travelled cross country in a VW bettle and landed on my stomach. i'll be working hard to pass them along to someone else :)

you have me intrigued about this vampire series. except i don't really care for scary stuff and vampires sound scary. is it?

So excellent when you loose weight when not trying to!!! Good for you!!! I need to now get "back" on my quest to drop some weight - been really hard while away on training and especially here.

You're such a reading nut. I mean that in an envious good way!

Woohoo! Great work by those elves.

Dang, I wish I lived by you so I could borrow all of these books!
