Dog Days

This afternoon it was just too hot to attempt a run of any length, and because I have bowling this evening and won't be able to run then, I guess today is a day of rest. In lieu of running, I decided it was a good chance to stay indoors in the sweet central air, roll out the yoga mat and do some yoga, some core work, and a few push-ups (girl style). However, Scooter seems to believe that the mat is for his comfort instead of mine: He's such a noble beast, isn't he? With his one ear folded back. He makes floor work of any kind hard since he believes that a human on the floor is an invitation to play, and today he thought it was just plain conveinent that I wanted to lay on the floor with him. Finally, I got him to scooch to the far side of the mat and was able to get my stuff done, but it's a bit hard to focus on sun salutations with this face staring up at me:
Best part is, if he'd follow my instruction, we could do "down dog" and "plank" together -- he's good at those two poses, but he's not much for formal training and when he does those two stretches, he rarely uses the mat.

Awwwwhhhhhhh what a cutie!! Who needs a Yoga instructor when you have him.

Are you going soft on me? LMAO JK! I think the only people I feel sorry for in Brit's little universe are her kids. Unfortunately you don't get to pick your parents and it's not like they had a hell of a chance with 1/2 of their DNA being Federline :-X Of course having boats loads of money and competent nannies always helps. . . . .

At least Scooter refrained from trying to teach you the "lick your nads" technique. Frustrating when pets don't respect core time, but it's hard to be mad when they are so loving.

Have fun at bowling, and drink one for me!

Our Pomeranian lays on my back when I do push-ups (girl or guy style). So that extra 9 pounds is why I'm pretty much totally buff. Totally.

Enjoy the central air and bowl time.

It was 102ish today up here. I'm so happy I've put off running for a week and well, I am taking care of my family now - too. I wouldn't run in this at all... Too freakin' hot. I know it's hotter in other places (like J'Mom's neck of the woods), but I'm a wimp.

Scooter is sooo very cute!!!! Adorable!!!

My scooter loves being on my yoga mat and is a big fan of down dog as well - too bad they can't get together for doggy yoga.

Now that's a yoga partner that you can truly work out with. :)

I think if you're a member to a gym, we should all have 'bring your pet to work' day.

When I try to do sit-ups, one of my cats, Taka, thinks it's an invitation to get under my head and get pounded by it repeatedly. It's SO annoying. But so cute at the same time.
