This afternoon, Jerry and I decided we'd take Scooter to the dog park to run around some while we walked the "loop" -- the asphalt path that circles the park. When we left, it was sunny, but clouds were building on the horizon, and ten minutes later when we pulled into the parking lot of the park, the clouds were looking dark and ominous, but we decided to get out and fit in as much park time as we could.
We managed to walk about 3 loops when it began to drizzle, so we ducked under a pavilion and decided to wait it out. A few minutes later, the rain let up, and we decided to give it another go.
So, we got to the far end of the park when the clouds opened up and poured rain. Without a nearby pavilion, we chose to make a run for it all the way back to the car, so Scooter, Jerry and I ran across the park, out the park and down the path to the parking lot, and across the parking lot before we got to hop into the car -- soaking wet.
That was probably the most running I've done in two weeks.

I have been reading your blog for about 6 months, very much enjoy your writing style and all your "adventures". I am a bit older than you (44) and have three kids ranging from 10 to 14. I just wanted to wish you only the best for your next and best adventure ever, motherhood. I know you will be a wonderful mother. Lili
The biggest lesson I learned when becoming a mother: there are no short-cuts in life, so you might as well do it right the first time. But having followed your blog for about 6 months now, I think you have already figured that out yourself! Good luck to Jerry and you, Lili
i hate it when the skies open up like that. that's sort of what happened to me on thursday when i was "heading for the hills" (warm up run to hill repeats. Ended in mad dash back to the car!
And you thought you were done running for awhile. See how Mother Nature just suckered you in...
Its funny how we panic and run in those situations. You know Scooter thought the whole episode was awesome ;)
Sounds like fun! :)
Looks like you got tricked into another run. Damn that Mother Nature!
Rain...now I have heard about this thing you call rain!
hahahaha...you got a run in!
It was fun though right? One day it was a down pour here in AZ and we tried to run from the car to the front door. After about 15 steps we realized we were soaked and it no longer mattered so we just walked and enjoyed getting drenched. It turned out to be quite hilarious!
Nice! Mother Nature can be a stinker! I am impressed that you can still run like that.
I could just picture the three of you! Scooter must have had a blast trying to keep up with you guys. And, the shock of no poop breaks.
Haha see you haven't given up running while pregnant just yet!
That sounded like a nice little run!
Motivation!! :-)
That counts for something!
See, you just can't escape the need to run :)
Hope the rain made it cool at least!
an impromptu speed session. GOt ot love those.
That's a lot of running at your stage in the game. I think your due date is almost the same as my wife's.. fun times!! After the first few months it gets really fun.
And I'm sure you waddled like a duck the whole way!
