Because I kept hitting "snooze" this morning, I didn't leave myself much time for a run, but I knew if I didn't do something, I'd regret it. So, I dragged myself out of bed and got 2 miles in. I know it's not much, but it's better than nothing.
I wish I could say it was a fast two miles, or that I felt great afterward, ot whatever else I could add that makes 2 miles sound more glorious than they are, but I can't: it was a slow, hot (read: humid), and boring 2 miles (my mp3 seems to have died again -- it apparently erased ALL the music on there, on its own; I don't even wanna think about that thing -- it has caused me so much aggravation).
Maybe I can do better tomorrow, we'll see. And yes, tonight is bowling, and I don't know for sure if my family is coming with or not: they said they maybe would -- partially depends on how much they do today and if they feel up to being around a bunch of drunken hooligans.

Picture Ruprect (from Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) running around and banging a pot with a spoon, repeating, "BOWLING NIGHT...BOWLING NIGHT...BOWLING NIGHT..." That's me right now. :-)
Runs like that can be frustrating, but don't dwell on it or it will wreck the next one. Instead, try to picture yourself running in slow motion, and begin correcting your form. If you have a good imagination you can stop and start your motion while adjusting little things.
Sounds hokey, but there have been studies that proove doing mental drills like that can have a huge impact on real performance.
But most important: have fun tonight!
At least you got up and out! I can't say that's why I'm up this early... school registration for me!
Screw the two humid miles three cheers for bowling night!
chica, you need an ipod!!!!
You really ARE going to have to sell our first born to get that mp3 player to work right. Dang! Sorry about the crappy 2 miler. No worries homie, it's bowling night!!!! YEAH!!!
The absence of a drunken blog post from last evening tells me you stayed sober during bowling. Any stories?
MPA: My husband is, for some reason I've never understood, anti-apple, so there are no ianything in our household.
BCG: Tonight, Thursday, is bowling. Although, I did have some beers last night (friends hosted a party in their new pad), but it was all pretty low key.
Bowling...bowling.....bowling!!!!! Blogging world will be waiting!!!! :>)
Just chalk up two miles as better then nothing and be proud you got it done!
Heck, you did 2 miles more than my scheduled 3 mile run this morning. What sucks is that I said, "eh, I'll do it at lunch" then came to work and ended up having a 12-1. sucks! When am I gonna run now.
So, 2 more miles than most of us. That's great you did it and no worries about it not being one of your best.
Most importantly, It's time for bowling tonight!!!
Hey, at least you got out of bed. I say focus less on the quality of the run and more on the fact you did the near-impossible: woke up!
Two miles is better than none... and I am sure you felt better for doing something, rather than nothing, right?
Enjoy bowling tonight. I will be just packing and getting ready to move. Yeah!
you are right - two is better than none. Hope bowling was fun.
I'll tuck my response to your comment with this old post, since I'm sure no one else is that interested in my running schedule.
My planned training schedule is easy runs Tuesday and Friday (though my shortest ones are 8 miles), tempo/speed on Thursday and long runs Sunday. I didn't want to run Sunday this week so I moved to Saturday. I run alone during the week, but do my long runs on Sunday with a group up in West Palm. I'm not sure about long runs, BUT depending on how many miles your long runs should be I'm willing to do my Friday runs at a slower pace. For the next few weeks they are 9 milers, but I think I can handle adding a few extra miles - not sure I can make it past 13 or so though.
Let me know if that might work...(though, if you hadn't picked up on it yet, I'm kinda strange)
