or the wildlife preserve. It's not a place to go and party (like Key West); it's a place to go and relax -- and that's exacting what the hubby and I did this weekend.Our trip revolved around one thing: the beach. We spent most of our time lying on the beach, enjoying the sun and our respective reads. I think I really needed this weekend: I slept a lot, finished two books that I was part way through, got some rays, enjoyed the clear Gulf water, and even got a run in (also along the beach -- it was a beautiful run, even ran past a couple getting married at sunset).
We got home this afternoon, and since my hubby was able to finish Harry Potter at the beach, I plan on picking the book up and spending the rest of the day buried in Potter. Ahhh, what a lovely weekend. Hope everyone's elses was just as enjoyable!

I've heard Sanibel is beautiful. I also heard that all the trees were blown apart in the storms of '04 and '05.

Sounds like it was a great weekend. Reading is fun. I grew up going to Gulf beaches in Texas - and the water is NOT clear. And since I've never been to Florida's Gulf coast I'm a bit skeptical that the photo you took is even authentic.
Sounds like paradise....take us all with you next time...we promise to vegitate and not party...right Marcy?
