Mornings 3, Jess 0

As you can guess by my posts's title, I did not run at the ass crack of dawn this morning. So, that means I will postpone the run to this evening. Eh, I'll get it done and one of these days I'll figure out this morning running business.

In the meantime, I got a kickass package in the mail yesterday from MCM Mama! I scored the loot in a giveaway she hosted awhile back, and I had completely forgotten about it, so I was thrilled to open my box of goodies: I got coffee, gels, and Nuun (which I'm stoked to try), and she also included a few things for Norah: the toy giraffe and the book pictured below.
Here's Norah's enthusiastic response to such thoughtful gifts:
Clearly, she can't wait to read her book and play with the giraffe! And I can't wait to consume all the products she included for me! Thanks again MCM Mama; we love our swag!

This month's Runners World claims that runners have better training runs in the morning than in the evening.

I also was a slug this morning and neglected to drag my sorry behind out in the cold/dark for my tempo 6. Congrats on the loot!: )

It is always fun winning stuff!! Hope you enjoy the NUUN. It takes a few sips to get use to, but it really helps.

Don't beat yourself up too much about not getting up and running. I hate mornings!
That pic of Nora is great! She is getting cuter and cuter!

I literally laughed out loud at Norah's picture. Too cute.

Also, I read the article that Jamoosh mentioned too..... Arguments were that your blood pressure is lower, feet swelling is lower, and overall joint swelling is less.

However, I've also read that in the morning your muscles need to be warmed up a lot more to prevent injury. That is usually what I listen to when hitting the snooze on the alarm :)

LOL... I think Norah got the best end of that deal ;-)

Glad it got there safely!

Kevin Henkes is one of the boys' favorite authors. I highly recommend Chrysanthemum and Chester's Way when Norah gets a bit older.

Can't help you on the morning running. I only run in the morning if I'm racing.

I came across your blog a couple of months ago when I googled "pregnancy and running" and have been checking it here and there. I just wanted to pipe in about the running in the morning. The hardest part about running in the morning is draggin' the a-- out of bed. Once you do that, it is so worth it. For one, it is cooler (yet still humid, I am in the Houston area, so somewhat like your weather) in the mornings. Second, for the rest of the day you feel the benefits of the run (feel great, more energy, etc). I run in the am before my husband goes to work. Also, for the rest of the day, it is a nice feeling knowing the run is behind me.

Your baby is adorable, by the way...and very healthy! Great job :)

Just try it for 21 days....

I have faith in your morning running routine. You have run a marathon for god's sake. If you can do that, you certainly can get your *ss out of bed to run. Even I have been getting up at 5am to exercise. Now that says something. If I can do it, I know you can do it.

The gift box is great. Since I am not a runner, I am assuming most of the goodies were running related.

Norah sure is excited for those new toys! What a lucky girl. Cute picture too. I can't wait to hear her start laughing and giggling.

Hey, I don't know about you, but nothing motivates me like free swag (and really cool free swag at that).
