I may have to retract all the sarcasm from yesterday's post since today Jerry has been taking care of Norah all day. Of course, the reason he's in charge of her all day is because I'm cleaning the house from top to bottom, but I do have to give him credit where it's due.
So, why am I in a cleaning frenzy? My mom is coming tonight (I pick her up from the airport at 9 pm). And even though I know my mom is here to see Norah and Jerry and I, and she is neither the sort to notice nor care how clean my house is, I care how clean my house is, so I spent about 5 hours cleaning today, which is a lot considering the size of our pad.
But, it was good to have the time and freedom to really clean-clean, not just surface-clean, which is what I have been doing basically since Norah was born. Now this place is so shiny clean, you could eat off the floors!
Not that I would want you to because then you'd make a mess on my very clean floors, and then I'd have to take you out back and pistol whip you.
Anyhoo...I'm excited for my mom to be here (even though I'm certain I will be equally excited at the end of the week when she flies home); she hasn't been to visit us in FL since we got married (nearly 4 years ago). I guess I have to do big things, like get married and have a baby, in order to justify a visit from her.

Enjoy the visit. Take lots of pictures!
I can relate to the cleaning before family visiting. No motivation better than that for me to get real cleaning done. My parents didn't come to visit me after I got married until we had our first baby too. Have a great time!
Nothing like a new baby to encourage the rents to visit!! You guys have fun!!
Mom visits are probably the ONLY time I clean, LOL!
You should not only be giving props to Jerry, but I must say that you should be waiting on him hand and foot. Coming back from the "deadly" man flu like that to offer a hand, manly indeed.
Even though she may not care, sometimes we need reasons to get us to clean-clean like you're talking. Having people over or family in town visiting are great reasons to clean.
I hope you enjoy her visit! Can't wait to see pics.
Have a great time with Mom. Just think what you'll have to pull out of your hat to get the next visit.
I am the same way - but when my mom came to visit she swept the floors and asked to do the wash! I didn't take advantage of her doing dishes or wash but I wish I did - so you should!
My house needs a good thorough cleaning... I think you've motivated me to get on that.
Have a great visit with Mom/Grandma!
I am the same way when family is coming to visit, turning into crazy cleaning lady. Have a great visit with your mom!
Its obvious she has yet to visit ... or you would not have included youself and your hubby into the people your mom is visiting. If she is anything like other Grandmas I know ... there is only one thing she is thinking of. Her Grandbaby ;) You are now chopped liver, my friend!
Enjoy the time with Grandma.
I am sure you enjoyed your alone time yesterday even if was to clean the house. Jerry did a great job with Norah (Ryan was there to help if needed but Jerry had it under control). Enjoy your time with your mom. Hopefully the weather stays nice and you can get out for some adventures.
Good luck with the Grandma visit and enjoy the extra set of hands! We will need lots of pics and updates! :)
hope your mom is enjoying the visit. we got a visit from kelley's mom this weekend too.
Hope you have a great visit with your mom!
I am convinced that your Mom will enjoy every minute with her granddaughter. I know the feeling when it comes to cleaning before grandfolks come in.
Grandma must be so excited! Is it her first grandchild?
Good thing my mom doesn't read your blog. She'd wonder why my house is always a wreck when she arrives LOL.
Hope it's a great visit.
Enjoy the visit. Your mom is probably vibrating she's so excited.
hope the visit is going great!
enjoy your visit! and few things beat a super clean house! hope you're feeling better.
Yeah..mom's are like that (babies will get 'em out to visit...luckily it doesn't wear off, even when they're teenagers, or it least it hasn't with mine yet.)
I completely get the clean thing. I'm a maniac about cleaning before my mom arrives, and I'm really not otherwise. Not. at. all.
BTW...severe man flu (your last post) had me ROLLING! I've observed much the same over here. hahaha
