Perfect 10

Currently, we're enjoying absolutely PERFECT weather here in South Florida: It's in the low 70s, the air is drier, and the skies are clear and sunny. And with the sunrise not occurring until about 7 am, that means a 6 am run along the beach is awesome, so that's what Wendy and I did this morning.

I had Garmin issues (for some reason, after 3 miles, it still hadn't found a satellite signal, so I just turned it off and relied on Wendy to pace us and keep track of our mileage with her Garmin), so I don't have splits, but we did 10 miles in about 1 hour 45 minutes. Not too shabby considering we took walk breaks at the beginning of most miles (Wendy is still nursing a nagging injury that kept her out of running all summer), and I think she said our average pace was 10:30. A nice, conversational pace -- it's the sort of pace that makes me feel like I could run for forever, so it felt great.

Now, I'm home and I shut off the A/C and opened up the windows and the patio door, and for the first time in about 6 months, I'm enjoying the fresh air in the house. Ah...I love "winter" in FL. From now until about the end of February: These are the best months to live and run here!

sounds lovely- you should really run on a1a in delray and then go to breakfast at luna rosa's. that's what G does and i go meet him there sometimes for breaky after his run- (he showers at one of the beach showers- well rinses off)

Wow...that sounds perfect. I only get to run along the beach on vacations! You don't mind if I live vicariously through you do you?

We've got the windows open in Indiana, too. We only have highs of 58, and the nights get into the lower 40's. Still, it's wonderful to be out of the 80's and 90's.

Weather like this makes me want to run and we all know that is highly unlikely ;) It is a gorgeous day out. I was thinking about turning the AC off and opening some windows too.

Sounds lovely, both the run and the weather.

We went from perfect fall weather to BRRR! overnight.

Nice job on the run. Glad to hear the weather is perfect down there! You're getting weather that we had two months ago.. now I have had to close the windows, as I usually like to sleep with them open.. and I had to turn the heat on once this week. It was just so damn cold.

Glad you can finally enjoy some cooler weather. It's getting pretty chilly up here. I actually bought a real jacket yesterday. With lining and everything, haha!

Sounds like a great run with Wendy. I love those runs with friends where you can chat and the miles just melt away.

That's what winter is like? That is so funny. I know I will enjoy winter in the south, but I don't think Nashville is as warm as FL.

Sounds like a nice run!

I'm envious of your weather....we seemed to go straight from hot & humid around here to FROST. Ugh!

You sure have the bragging right to have this wonderful weather. It has been cold this morning (39 degrees). I cannot wait to test the Fla weather next week when I come down there.

That does sound nice. Here in SC we've been high 60's with the windows open for a couple of weeks now. but it'll only be a couple more weeks till it gets too cold for that. and i wish i could get a 6 am run in. The wife holds her court with the early morning runs and I have to listen to the babies sleep.
