Semi-Wordless Wednesday

For a child, the world must be so exciting since there are new and exciting things to do and learn everyday. Here's what Norah has recently discovered: First of all, she found out that she's able to climb on top of the coffee table. Then, this evening, while "helping" me in the kitchen after dinner, she discovered a drawer she's never opened before, and viola! Aluminum foil! Grand stuff.
Also, this evening, she figured out how to get a stream of water from the refrigerator, and...
...thereby, create a most fantastic splashing pool!
I'm not sure at what age this curiosity about the world begins to diminsh, but while she's sometimes a trial to keep up with, she does remind me how awesome even the small things can be. Which is one of the cool parts of being a parent: You get to re-experience the world in a new way, and suddenly, coffee tables, and aluminum foil, and the refrigerator do seem a bit more interesting.

I'm afraid of the day Marcus can actually reach the water dispenser on the fridge...he knows what it does but it's still out of reach!

now i remember why we put those child latches in the kitchen. when i was taking them out i couldn't remember why we had decided to latch up EVERY drawer and cabinet in the kitchen. surely the stuff isn't THAT dangerous. but alas! now i remember. it's because I got tired of putting things back...

Ah yes, the small mysteries. Rylee likes the "white air" that comes out of the freezer when you open it. Tonight, she was opening and closing the dryer door to see the light go on and off. Who needs toys?!

Oh my... kitchens are bad places for kids, I guess. I had a similar horror when I realized my puppy is now big enough to jump on furniture. Ahhh!

What a cutie!

Check out a learning tower. I've used that with all five of my kiddos. Really helps in the kitchen ... mine tend to fall off chairs.

awe looks like Norah is having a blast! I can just stare at Eli all day when he is figuring things out and concentrating/reacting to new things! I love this stage, and every stage so far, they are all so different but it is so nice to see things through their eyes!

Emma has been discovering things too! She found that if she stands on her stool there is a whole new world on the counter! The only drawback is that now I have to make sure the counter is clear of things she can hurt herself with....ooops!
