Checking Off Items on the "To Do" List

Some days, I really just astound myself with how awesome I am.

I mean, really, I have been on top of my shit today. I:
  • Went to the dentist this morning. Had to get a tooth re-bonded. That motherfucker keeps wanting to chip off. I told the dentist to make the bonding "extra sticky" today because I don't want to be back in that chair in 6 months again for the same thing.
  • Went to the Post Office and mailed two packages. Line was miraculously short and I didn't have one inkling that I might have to break someone's legs.
  • Finished the grading I had, met for the last time with 2 of my classes, returned their work to them, gave them their final grades, and bid them "adieux." 2 classes down. 4 to go.
  • Many students told me "thanks for being such a great professor!" and "you're the best English teacher I've ever had!" True dat.
  • Since I didn't hold either class for their full time, I was home about an hour and a half early, so I "surface cleaned" the house -- you know, the kind of mid-week pick-up and vacuum kind of stuff, not the scrubbing toilets kind of stuff.
  • Got dinner prepped and ready.
  • Went for a 5 miler (46:19). Felt glorious -- my 4th mile clocked in at 8:55, but that was my fastest; otherwise, it was an average 9:15/mile pace. It's only about 60 degrees outside, so this cool, dry weather really is to my running advantage.

Ta-da!

And, it's only 5:30 pm now. Are you people impressed by my awesome-ness now? You should be! If I just had a little more coffee, at this point, I think I could solve the financial crisis.

All you're doing is making me feel like a slacker, and that's kind of a jerkish thing for you to do.

I don't know why that, on top of your shit just had me rolling!!
Have not heard that one in a while or pherhapsit could have been
the visual I had.

I am a bonded chick. Do you do flouride? The dentist told me not to do flouride for 1 month prior to getting it bonded. Just my $0.02, we know I surely did not go to any kind of dental establishment for my eduation.

Wow, Jess that is a super impressive list from the compliments to post office and even a speedy 5 miler...

I would say on top of your shit, no doubt! Enjoy the rest of you evening!!

At my house, I'm cleaning, cooking, or working out. Not all in one day and guess what usually wins!

Is it that same tooth in front? Dayum they better get on that shiz with the extra sticky factor. Although I'm betting that the real reason it didn't stick right the first time is because you're so awesome they wanted to make sure you came back ;-)

Nice job getting everything done. You must be a good teacher to get those comments, I am sure the letting class out early helps too. You are awesome.

That's a good day! It's pretty sad that we can empathize about what a great feeling that is. We are all dorks.

I took Friday off to do my Xmas shopping. I hope I am productive. Of course my list of to do's is longer than I know I will accomplish but it's worth a shot!

Wow, you are sooo awesome! I had a relatively unproductive day compared to yours. It feels so good to wrap up a class.

Very productive indeed! BTW I've discovered the self-ship machine at my Post Office. Do they have one at yours? It's awesome. You can weigh, print postage, ship, everything without the lines!

Then pour the java baby. Because that crisis needs fixing!

Oh, man! I wish that 60 degees felt "cool" to me! It's 50 here today and everyone's running around practically nude! It's going to be 13 degrees tomorrow night!

Way to get stuff done!

Yes, you are definitely awesome! Especially considering you either age very well or finished school very young...are your students ever perplexed that you are the professor?? They must think you are one of the students!
