Back in Northfield

Sorry that I've been MIA the past few days, but it's been busy. On Sunday, we did indeed go snowmobiling. It was pretty fun, but even with all the extra snow clothes, I got cold pretty fast, so my time on the sled was pretty short. But Jerry went out for a pretty lengthy ride and had a good time.

Yesterday was my brother's b-day, so we had b-day celebrations and spent the night at his place, and then today we headed back south to Jerry's parents' in Northfield. It was another long day in the car (300 miles back across the great state of MN), but thankfully, we got to break up the journey by stopping for a long lunch with some friends who live near Pequot Lakes.

I have to admit that at this point, I'm pretty much ready to go home. Actually, I think I was ready about 3 days ago, but now I am officially declaring that I'd like to go home. Unfortunately/fortunately, we're not heading back to FL until this coming weekend, so I have several more days to yearn for my own home with my own bed, my own kitchen, and the sweet, sweet promise that I will one day be warm again.

But at this point, do you think there's any way I can convince Jerry to load me onto a direct flight back to Ft Lauderdale, so I can skip that bothersome 1,800 mile drive back?

I know that feeling of being ready to go home. Hang in there and I hope you have a nice Christmas! Don't think about the long driver home.... yet.

Ouch... are you getting hit with snow as much as we are? That's gotta be a real shocker compared to home-home :-(. Stay warm chica, safe travels and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Yeah, I'm sure Jerry would just love to drive for 3 days all by himself, except for Scoots. Sounds like a blast to me! :)

7 months from now you'll be dreaming of speeding along billowy snow drifts on that snowmobile. But I do totally understand the thin blood in winter problems. Maybe you can stay up late drinking and sleep half the day. That should make the time pass differently. And you'll get an all new and interesting reputation with the family!

But think of all the family bonding you'd miss out on if you didn't make that lovely trip back!

There's no place like home.
There's no place like home.
There's no place like home.

Did you remember to take your red shoes?

Merry Christmas!

That's the bummer about traveling to MN from FL. The drive alone feels like forever away from home and then you still have to visit everyone. Jer-Bear's family will change the pace and you get to open more presents. That should help pass some of the time.

Hurry home. We miss you! (and it's in the upper 70's low 80's).

Merry Christmas, Jess! I know the feeling of wanting to be home. Hang in there.. How often do you see your FIL ? A few more days won't hurt.

Enjoy your holidays !!!

I hear you on being ready to be home. The white stuff was cool at first, but really, three snowfalls in 5 days is a bit much for me.

Merry Christmas!

Pretty sure you can get two plane tickets by selling the car. Float that idea by Jerry and see what he says.

Um, yes, I can think of ways, but they aren't fit for posting here. ;)

Enjoy the remainder of your stay and be safe on the return journey.
