Jerry and I have never celebrated Valentine's Day by going out to a restaurant. When we were first together, I was still working part-time as a server so I always had to work V-Day and all the days that surrounded it (but, I honestly didn't mind: V-Day is a HUGE money-maker for restaurants and I always made fat cash). Then, in the past few years, we have always decided to do V-Day as a low-key dinner at home.
But I decided that this year, we're going OUT.
I hear that with children, going out becomes a little harder to arrange, so I figure that if we're gonna do V-Day up, this is the year to do it! So tonight we're going out to dinner to The Melting Pot for a delicious fondue-tastic meal (it was easier to get a reservation a few days before V-Day), and I'm excited to get a bit dressed up and enjoy a good meal out.
I just pray I keep it down.

Happy V day and you picked a perfect yummy restaurant. We want pictures of you a purtied up.
Word Verification : Swindler? WTF? LOL....
Happy Early V-Day. I can say that it is A LOT harder going out with kids than without (unless you have a free babysitter).
Have fun!
Agreed! You have a great V-day celebration :-) I, for one, have never had ANY problem with mine or anybody else's kids in restaurants!
LOL I'm with Carly.
I give my kids a good punch in the gut before we go in. That usually sets them straight (Totally kidding!)
I didn't even know it WAS possible to go out with kids...
...just kidding.
Happy V'day. Enjoy your meal!
Ooooooh - enjoy that meal!
Happy Valentines day to you. It totally changes with kids. My wife and I haven't gone out alone since we had our first, 8 years ago this month. Enjoy it while you can.
Randomly came across your blog, love it.
And I love the Melting Pot! A little advice, if you're going to go all out when you go (getting the cheese fondue, main course, and chocolate fondue), go light on the cheese! You'll want to save room for the pure deliciousness of the chocolate...mmmmmm.
My husband and I went a little overboard on the cheese (so good) and then didn't feel like dessert (which is the best part!)
Yum! A sassy new cut (Jaci asked me about it) and a V-day dinner at Melting Pot...who cares if you puke it up. You will have fun and look good doing it.
That sounds like fun! I am plotting a nice getaway with the Hubs. I looooveee to dress up!
Oh my gosh, the Melting Pot is an awesome meal... I love the experience of dinner there b/c it takes a long time but it's more about the conversation and company. It's great- a perfect choice for Vday. HAVE FUN!
Oh for fun! Enjoy you two!
Jon and I were talking about that place the other day. We had reservations for our 2nd anniversary (Sept 11th), but they shut the restaurant down obviously. We wondered if we should temp fate and try again this year for our 10th anniversary...
Yum! I love the melting pot! We don't celebrate V day here (my choice), but are hoping our babysitter is available soon so we can have a date night.
FWIW, we go out for dinner one night a week with the kids (sometimes to nice restaurants, always to a sit down place) and they do really well, mostly because they've always done it.
Have fun!
The melting pot is great for date night. Enjoy it. Definitely a good idea going a couple days early to beat the crowds
Sounds like a fantastic idea. Enjoy!
Happy V-Day! Enjoy your night out.
I always want to go to the melting pot! Enjoy!
Happy Valentines Day to you and Jerry. You're smart for doin' it up right while you can...
Fondue is my fave!
Good thinking! Have a romantic evening while you can. Hope you keep it down too!
Very smart of you! Don't worry though you will still have plenty of romantic dates after the baby is born!
