Back to the Real World

You know how when you're on vacation, your world kinda changes its plane of existence? You are free from your normal day-to-day cares, worries, responsibilities, and duties, and you're free to relax and have fun.

But then you return from vacation and discover that the rest of the world didn't come to a halt while you were away?

Yeah, then the catch-up begins. And that's what I've been doing since we got back on Monday: I have loads of work to get done (and that seems exaggerated since we have spring break next week and I'm trying to get everything done before we dismiss for break), I have household things to do (still working on that vacay laundry), and I don't feel good.

While on the cruise, I felt just fine. No seasickness, no morning sickness, no sickness at all. But Monday morning when we were sitting in port in Miami? Barfed up my breakfast. Weird, right? It's like LBB knew we were back from vacation and he or she wanted to rebel against such madness. And since returning home, I have just felt like crap.

This morning I had another commuter-barfisode, except this time I didn't have the luxury of scoping out a place to stop; I just had to quickly pull over and yak on the grass by the side of the road. Then I got to school and barfed again in the bathroom by my office. And I have to admit that as I sit here and type this now (back in my office after my classes), I'm trying to supress the yak-urge.

C'mon pregnancy! I'm 16, going on 17, weeks (which doesn't that get the song "I am 16 going on 17" from "The Sound of Music" in your head?). I thought this shit was supposed to be over by now!

Oh well, what can I do? Maybe since LBB seems to be giving me trouble now it means that he or she will be a breeze once he or she arrives. Newborns sleep through the night, right?

Okay, enough complaining. I've got papers to read, laundry to do, and hopefully a run to get in this evening (I was good and ran twice while on our cruise!); not to mention the bazillion blogs I have to catch up with, so I'll check ya homies later!

Sure some newborns sleep through the night. When dealing with the wee ones "sleep through the night" means 4 hrs of continual sleep HAHA

So sorry to year you're still yakky. I have no kids, but yeah, pretty sure they sleep through the night. Cheap to raise too. :o)

sure. if it makes you feel better to believe that they sleep through the night then go ahead and believe that. LOL.

Seriously though, I'm sorry to hear that you're still having stomache issues. Bleck!

I was wondering if LBB let you enjoy yourself on vacation... sorry to hear that you're paying for it now.

Good luck with all the catch up.

Sorry the yak-fest isn't over. Gosh darn it, isn't your body evah gonna get used to "that" baby hormone? At least you can get some rest during spring break.

The newborns sleep through the night when you don't feed them and give them tons of Benadryl. (kidding of course)

I really really really hate to tell you this BUT I puked EVERY single day of my second pregnancy. I could not smell anything cooking or take a bite of anything too warm or too cold without puking. I could not think about food without puking and I still mananged to gain 30lbs which is a huge improvement from my first pregnancy where I gained 50 but didnt throw up once.

I guess the moral of the story is LBB will only be happy while you're lounging on the beach, taking in the sunshine. :)

Hope it passes soon!

Ugh. :( At least you felt good on the trip. Think of how awful it would have been if you were sick then. :(

Bummer that you are still feeling icky!

Let's not talk about sleep. I was excited last night because my 7 year old and my 3 year old both slept through LOL.

That's so strange you were puke-free on the cruise! Maybe the motion of the ocean leveled out your equilibrium or something...

Cause, you know, I'm a doctor and all.

I'm so sorry you're still feeling crappy. I hope you start feeling better soon.

Miller made Erin feel nasty and he turned out to be a super baby so maybe that will hold true for LBB! Sorry you're still feeling crappy though...
