Summer Running

For those of you buried in snow, you're probably gonna hate me for saying this, but:

It was HOT this past weekend here in FL.

Like high-80s/low 90s hot.  It was like the weather suddenly decided to be July.  The shift was abrupt and, for the running, uncomfortable.  After both weekend runs, I returned home red-faced, dripping sweat, and with sausage fingers.  And, I didn't run more than 5 miles.

The other day, after getting back from a run, I picked Caleb up, and he recoiled from me, threw his hands up in disgust and said, "HOT!"

I think summer was just briefly fucking with us because today it's back to a more temperate range in the 70s, and the forecast for the week looks like the heat hath reigned itself in.  But, it was a brutal reminder for how spoiled I get by "winter" here.

Anyhoo, for those who are living somehwere where your spring is feeling a lot like winter, forgive this brief diatribe about heat.  You're welcome to fling whatever insults you want my way.  Or, you're welcome to come visit FL.

Your tourism pays my income tax, so I don't mind. :)

Yeah, reading your post while staring out my window at about 5 inches of snow, with no end in site, makes me wish I lived in your area. Heck, I wish that anyway. I can't stand freezing weather.

It doesn't feel like summer here, but we also don't have snow so I don't mind the complaint about the heat.

I felt the same way the second half of our spring break trip to Phoenix - it was freaking hot!

My drive to work was white knuckles because of the snow and icy roads. Man, I love Spring!!!!!

I was in Florida and it was cool & windy. I guess I just missed the hot weather.

I have the sunburn to match those hot temps we just experienced.

I have really been missing the Florida heat lately. The weather in Not-So-Hotlanta has been cold and dreary.

I know I complain about the cold and snow but when it comes to running in cooler temps....I am all for it! I don't know how you run in the heat and humidity.

honestly, either extreme is unwelcome. though i admit i've been jealous of your winter - especially this year. i used to love winter, but now i am so sick of it , and i just want to see SUN!
