Tuesday's Time and Temp

Jerry took today and tomorrow off work, which worked out great for me this morning: I got to sleep in a bit, he made breakfast, and then I got to go for a 3 miler. It felt like a Saturday, not a Tuesday!

Some cool weather blew in overnight, so this morning, temps were only in the mid-50s, which is perfect, and even though my fingers and arms were a touch cold, overall, the temp was incredibly comfortable for shorts and a short-sleeved tech shirt. I think both the temp and the timing intersected at just the right nexus, and this enabled me to have a stellar run in 28:32 -- anytime I can run at a sub-10 min/mile pace, I feel like I'm cruising!

Too bad I can't always run at 8:30 am in 50 degree temps, but it does look as though I will be able to repeat at least the time and temp tomorrow, so we'll see if the result is the same.

Anyhoo...I'm off to class now and I have to admit that I don't want to go. This is the class wherein I had the student "incident" last Thursday, and I'm crossing my fingers that we can resume our work smoothly; however, the anticipation of the class is making me a bit nervous. But, time to go buck up and see what's in store for me. Hopefully, nothing.

Nice job on the speedy run this morning! Too bad we can't always have the perfect time & temp to run.

Hope everything goes smoothly in class today.

It is always great when you are able to make a weekday a "weekend", and even better when you get to do it with a significant other! Right now my miles are slow so I feel the same way you do about a 10min/mi pace (I ran excatcly that this morning). Hopefully the weather here will get just a bit warmer in the next month or two so that we can have 40-50 degree mornings and running outside won't be so miserable :)

Good luck in class, I read your post from the other day. Hopefully he will have his head on straight from now on, and you won't have any more trouble out of him.

Nice temps & a relaxing morning always sound soooo great!

Hopefully your student will have had the weekend to think about his reaction to your class assignment and will be able to control his actions! Got my fingers crossed for you (both).

Nice speedy run!
And don't worry, don't let that snot nosed kid un-hinge you. You are an amazing teacher I am sure and he isn't worth it!
Enjoy your run tomorrow, you deserve the break!

Hope it went well today - I hated that! But it was always better once it was over with, that first time back.

Yay for it feeling like a weekend, I love when Bill has a day off during the week!

I've thought about you and that student a couple of times. I hope it went well today! If only all kids wanted to learn! You never know what baggage he had that made him react that way.
I know what you mean about the sub 10 minute runs. I always feel good too. I hope you have a good run again tomorrow.

I hope class went well! I've had similar incidents, (thankfully, not this year, I have a much more sane class), but with elementary school students. Which is unfortunate on many levels. Mainly because it's horrific that 9 years olds have that kind of vocabulary and anger, but it's hard to face 180 days, all day knowing that that kind of thing could happen at any moment.

So even though your students are bigger and potentially scarier, at least it's just one class a week!
