Back to Work

After two weeks off for winter break, today I have to return to work.

On the one hand, I do NOT want to go back to work. I have grown accustomed to wearing sweatpants all day long and not worrying about showering, but now I have to get back to a schedule and put on real pants. Boo.

Yet, on the other hand, my schedule still affords me half a day home with Norah, and I have no class on Fridays, so it's not too bad. Plus, I think escaping to work in the afternoons and evenings will be kinda nice; taking care of Norah all day long is tough work, especially since afternoons can be her crab apple time.

Thankfully, I don't actually have class today or tomorrow -- they don't begin until Wednesday -- but it is a duty day for me so I have to be on campus. This is actually good because I did not do a thing school-wise over the break, so I have some organizing to get done before my classes begin.

Hope everyone else has a good Monday; I think it's a slow one for everyone today since most of you had a 3 day weekend, and you're waking up to freezing temps pretty much everywhere today. In fact, it's even cold here in FL: It actually got down into the high 30s last night and right now is only 41. That's like the apocalypse here!

Good luck going back to work! I teach middle school, and had a hard time getting myself up and going this morning. The sub freezing temps in NJ didn't help! I'm trying to psyche myself up to get through this first day back, and then through a 6 mile run after work in the COLD! I always dread these things more than necessary...

have a good week Jess! you're right, the time away from home comes as a welcome relief for a lot of people. I know kelley can't wait to get back to work just to be around other adults again.

I can't believe how cold it is in FL. I have family down there for a trip and they are complaining of temps in the 40's/50's! I told them to suck it up... it's -7 here today!

Happy Monday, Jess!

The good thing is, those kids want to be back even less than you do. Its fun to torture them by making them think they just walked into the class thats gonna kick them in the pants this semester. I love scaring kids the first day ;)

I thought it was nice to look like a functioning member of society today for the first time in quite a while. Stay warm.

Why do we have to go back to work after not working? If only we could somehow avoid the first day back, it wouldn't be so bad. Cheers!

Hope you have a good first day back. It was rough dragging my butt out of bed this morning in the freezing temps. I can't believe how chilly it is down there for you guys!

I felt the same way about getting back to work. I miss the 'not having to' that time off affords me but I enjoy missing my kids a little bit. Plus I love routine!!!

We are sub zero wind chills. 2 hours delay for schools (that's always fun for working moms to figure out!) so it's me a squeaky treadmill tonight.

Have an amazing week.

The back to school thing nearly knocked me out today! I can't imagine coming home to a baby--you are amazing!

I love my sweatpants too! So, for work today I wore a long skirt (down to my ankles) and a long sleeve t-shirt. Basically a slightly dressed up version of my sweats look. Hope getting back into the swing of things isn't too bad this week.
