5 Month Stats

Norah had a check up this morning and here are her 5 month stats:

Height: 25 3/4 inches (68th percentile)
Weight: 15 lbs (48th percentile)

So, a little above average for height and about average for weight.

The doctor gave the green light on starting solids, so when Jerry gets back, we'll probably begin by introducing rice cereal. Up until this point, she's had nothing but boob milk, so to have cereal is gonna blow her mind.

Otherwise, it was a good check up -- she's healthy and on track in all developmental aspects -- and she just had one shot and she didn't even cry.

That's about all I got today: I have not had a good day (I had a student yell "Fuck this shit!" and storm out of my classroom earlier today and dealing with his outburst sucked up most of my afternoon: Hello paperwork and a meeting with the dean of student affairs! Good lord, in 10 years of teaching at the college level, I've never had an incident such as this. This term is not off to a good start). So, I'm just looking to get through the rest of the evening and call it a day. That'll be in about...5 hours or so.

Welcome to the month of craptastic luck.

Good stats on Miss "Ownah" as Miller likes to call her. She will like the rice cereal and Jerry will like the new poop. Get to it, veggies start in a month :)

Too bad your institution of higher learning doesn't have a dungeon, sounds like that kid needs a time out medieval style. (added bonus, no paperwork)

You've been teaching college for 10 years! Wow! You don't look it!

We have kinder. yell obs. like that! Would it be easier to take from a primary or a college student? Neither is really the answer.

Have a better day tomorrow.

Norah is getting so big! The first cereal always makes for funny photos.

I hope there is a cold beer in your future after dealing with that kind of BS today.

Yay for solids, boo for students who yell FTS. You should have yelled it back at him. What do you think student affairs would have to say about that? :o)

ok - more backstory! what was going on in class that made your student loose it? I never had anything like that happen either - though I did have a student miss an exam because he was in the lockup :)

I'm glad the checkup went well. A healthy baby is a happy baby.

I'm sorry you had a crummy day. Me too, which is why I'm drinking wine for dinner. =]

Wow... I can't (but I can) believe a student would act in such a way.

Good news about Norah! Healthy little cutie!

Welcome to the world of intersting poo! It's a colorful place. Glad you joined us.

Sorry you have to attempt to educate the amazing individuals who someday may be making decisions that effect the lives of many. Agghh! Scary, isn't it!

Tomorrow (which might be today when you read this) will be better! It will be Friday! :-)

It's great how babies can help us appreciate the small things in life :) Hope your Friday goes better than yesterday!

I hope Norah likes cereal! Good luck with the transition.

Have a great "girls only" weekend.

so to have cereal is gonna blow her mind.

Let the spitting begin :-)

We won't define the the success or lack there of of this term by the random acts of one person over which we have no control! There. I feel better :-)

Rice cereal failed to blow my child's mind; I mixed it with formula, so it pretty much tasted like formula. But when I gave him carrots, he had the biggest giggle fit of joy I had ever seen.
