I skipped my workouts on both Monday and Tuesday.
There, I feel better now.
My excuse? Simple exhaustion. I just felt so tired both days that I skipped the morning to sleep in and then I failed to get them done in the evening because after a full day, running or cross training were the last two things I was interested in. My reasons for such tiredness are the result of a confluence of three things: Having company back to back, getting ready for Christmas, and concluding the semester. Having them all coincide has left me wiped out.
However, I resolved last night that I wouldn't let another day slip by without getting my run in, so this morning, I rose early and ran 3 miles (33:07). And just as I knew it would, getting out there and doing it made me feel WAY better than skipping it the previous two days. It's amazing that I've been running for 4 and 1/2 years now, but I still need reminding that I actually feel more energized when I push myself to do the running rather than skipping it in favor of sleep or sitting in front of the TV.
Thankfully, my life is about to be a whole lot simpler for the next few weeks: No more company and we get to enjoy the holidays by ourselves, I'm nearly done with my xmas shopping and preparations, and by tomorrow afternoon, I'll be done with the semester; then, I get to enjoy 2 weeks off at home, which I am SO looking forward to!

Not to mention that part of those two weeks off you will have alone time since Norah can go to DC. Don't feel guilty about it. It's a glorious pleasure to have an afternoon to run errands, clean house, or chill without any parenting responsibilities. Enjoy your holiday! We are off to the frozen Midwest tomorrow.

some days we need the rest and some days we have to haul our bums out of bed. glad you had a good run!
You have to listen to your body. If you were exhausted, getting a bit of extra sleep was necessary. Don't beat yourself up!
That was me this morning. I almost pushed my run to this evening, but knew that if I "planned" to do that, I wouldn't get it done! Nice work!
Don't feel bad about taking a few days off, sometimes your body needs that. When the 2 days stretches to a week, then you can beat yourself up. Enjoy the two weeks off!
I constantly need to "remember" how good it feels to just get it done, even when it's the last thing I want to do.

I sometimes have to bribe myself to work out. Yesterday I told myself that I could buy a magazine if I went to the gym. It's always the hardest part just getting started.

I feel ya sista'! I have been wiped out, too! I got to the gym yesterday (it was raining out) and was jazzed to run. Then, once I started to run, I realized that I had zero effort in me! I ran three miles and came home! I really need to remember how good it makes me feel so that I can try again today! Happy Almost Vacation!
Wow you inspire me! I need to get back into taking better care of my body. 21 days might be a good start, and hopefully what happened to you will also happen to me! :) And your baby is DARLING!

I know the feeling when your mind says "must do..should do.." and the body says, "no way". Sometimes the body knows what it's talking about. This is one of those times. Have a great, relaxing (I hope) break!

Christmas is wearing me out too! I seriously only finished one person on my list so far. Instead of getting it done I instead panic about it, and all the panic is making me tired. Thats my excuse for not running :)
When I lived far away from family, Thanksgiving was my favorite holiday. No travel, no family, no obligations, and four days off. Just sweet!
It's the holidays! Everyone has trouble keeping those energy level up.

I told the pak mail employees right then and there what a pure pleasure it was! Although a note is always good. I was even thinking baked goods...when I make fudge...it would be worth it, my blood pressure appreciates them.
